Nearly two years ago we were introduced to a revolutionary room equalization system called Audyssey which was soon to be debuted in the up and coming AVR-5805 receiver flagship from Denon. Prior to reviewing this new super receiver, we sent one of our freelance writers, Patrick Hart , to Audyssey Labs for a first hand demo of their new system.

Though RBH Sound isn't yet a household name that people relate to as they do Sony TVs or Ken more Refrigerators, they are one of the oldest speaker companies in the USA still run and operated by the original founder - Roger Hassing. In 1976 RBH Sound produced its first loudspeaker. RBH soon began to OE M for McIntosh, (back in the days of Gordon Gow), providing cabinets for their speakers. This set the stage for doing a superb job since McIntosh didn't worry about how to cheapen the product, but to make it better and, at least at the time, class leading in performance.

We questioned Ian about the Axiom testing procedures in accordance to NRC standards. He informed us that Axiom first tests its products at the NRC in Ottawa and then take those "golden units" to their mini anechoic chamber to run baseline measurements.
