B&W Zeppelin Speaker System for iPod Review
[0.23]
by jclarke,November 28, 2007 20:00
- B&W's Zeppelin speaker system for iPod looks more like a piece of modern art than a set of speakers. Then again, it looks more like a black and chrome version of the Hindenburg than modern art. So aside from being aptly named, how does it sound? Priced at $599, B&W calls it "audiophile grade" and "stunning." I for one was ready for this thing to land at my house so I could find out for myself.

[0.23]
by jclarke,October 03, 2008 12:57
- The Denon AH-NC732 noise canceling headphones join a crowded category of products that frequent flyers are finding they cannot live without. It seems that only a few years ago your only choice for active noise canceling headphones was from the four-letter marketing machine, and you were paying top dollar for a mediocre product and lots of advertising. Denon took it's time entering the fray, but they have delivered some strong competition with the introduction of the AH-NC732 headphones.

Denon AVR-588 AV Receiver Review
[0.23]
by gary,January 01, 2008 20:20
- The new entry level Denon AV receiver is out and it is packed with more features than anybody has a right to expect for around $350. With plenty of connectivity options, features, and power, it’s hard to think of any reason a serious home theater enthusiast on a budget wouldn’t want to anchor their system with the AVR-588. While it is a very impressive A/V receiver, it will require some work to set it up in your theater and make full use all of its features.

- There’s nothing more satisfying than having your favorite music available to you throughout your house. Such seemingly complex, multi-room audio setups are often features of high-end homes. Yet, how cool would it be to have the audio from your main system playing in other rooms and speakers in your home? With a simple device called a speaker selector, you too can distribute audio throughout your home to pairs of free standing, in-wall, and in-ceiling speakers.

[0.23]
by jclarke,October 19, 2007 23:37
- If you haven't checked out the latest portable GPS offerings, you are missing out. In the last couple of years, the technology has really reached a saturation point that has brought in-car navigation to the masses, and the prices continue to fall while features and quality rise. TomTom is one of the leaders in portable GPS units, and I was thrilled at the chance to review one of their latest offerings, the GO 720.

2007 State of the CE Union RBH Sound Interview
[0.22]
by clint,October 26, 2007 20:53
- Gene DellaSala interviews Shane Rich, Technical Director of RBH Sound, about the new and improved T-2SE/R loudspeakers. These are essentially a two-piece, modular version of the T-30LSE which allows for a more manageable cabinet size for the low and high drivers. The dual 10-inch subwoofers can now be purchased separately as well (1010-SE/R) and the entire system is much easier to physically ship and manipulate into a home theater or two-channel listening installation. The RBH Sound demo was configured into an 11.2 surround configuration to match with Yamaha's desired DSP settings.

Belden & Blue Jeans Cable Shatter HDMI Record
[0.22]
by clint,July 07, 2009 08:57
- OK, well it's not exactly something Guinness was excited about, but Belden did manage to run 1080p/60 signal through an unamplified 100-foot run of HDMI cable. That's about 30 meters for anyone majoring in metric-to-SEA conversion ratios - and far beyond what is considered possible in terms of unamplified HDMI capabilities.
