The 1610 Tower 8 (MSRP: $7,600/pair shipped) is Arendal Sound’s newest premium floorstanding loudspeaker, bringing much of the flagship 1528 Series engineering to a more accessible price point. This three-way design features three 8-inch aluminum-cone woofers with nearly the same cone area as a 15-inch driver, a dedicated 5-inch enclosed carbon-fiber midrange, and a 1.1-inch aluminum-magnesium tweeter loaded into a controlled-directivity waveguide.
While sharing the same core design philosophy as the flagship 1528 Tower 8, the 1610 Tower 8 is considerably more room-friendly. It occupies roughly 40% less cabinet volume and weighs 42% less—though it's still a substantial 100 pounds. Despite its smaller footprint, it retains the time-aligned baffle, waveguide-loaded tweeter, dedicated midrange driver, and true three-way architecture. The result is a speaker that delivers much of the flagship’s engineering DNA in a package that is easier to place, move, and integrate into real-world listening spaces.

Having spent considerable time with
both models has given me a unique perspective on their strengths and
differences. Just how close does the 1610 Tower 8 come to the performance of
its flagship sibling, and what compromises, if any, were made to achieve its
lower price point? Those are the questions I set out to answer in this review.
Arendal Sound 1610 Series 8 Design Overview
Founded in Norway by Jan Ove Lassesen, Arendal Sound built its reputation by delivering reference-grade loudspeakers through a direct-to-consumer business model focused on engineering rather than marketing. The company first gained recognition with its highly regarded 1723 Series before raising the bar with the flagship 1528 Series, which introduced technologies such as passive time-aligned baffles, controlled-directivity waveguides, lithium-magnesium tweeters, and carbon-graphene midrange drivers.
The 1528 Series quickly established itself as a disruptor in the high-end loudspeaker market, offering exceptional build quality, deep bass extension, and reference-level output at a price that challenged many traditional luxury speaker brands. Rather than chasing sensitivity specifications, Arendal prioritized low-frequency extension, linearity, and power handling. The result was a speaker lineup capable of delivering deep bass, low distortion, and effortless dynamics for both music and home theater applications.
The new 1610 Series builds directly upon that foundation. Named after the year Arendal was granted official market town status, the 1610 lineup was designed to bring much of the flagship 1528 engineering to a wider audience in a more affordable and room-friendly package.
As much as I admired the performance of the 1528 speakers, my biggest criticism was always their sheer size and weight, particularly the 1528 Tower 8. At nearly 175 pounds each and standing over 56 inches tall, they demanded both a sizable room and a strong back. The 1610 Series appears to be Arendal's answer to that criticism.
While the 1610 drivers aren't quite as exotic as those used in the 1528, they're remarkably close in the areas that matter most. The lithium-magnesium tweeter has been replaced with an aluminum-magnesium design, while the carbon-graphene midrange gives way to a carbon-fiber driver. Despite these material changes, the engineering objectives remain the same: high output, low distortion, controlled directivity, and drivers that remain well-behaved throughout their operating range. Combined with carefully executed crossover design, Arendal has worked to preserve the neutral tonality, dynamic capability, and low coloration that made the 1528 Series so successful.
The 1610 Series consists of four models designed for hi-fi stereo to fully timbre-matched home theater applications. All models share similar design DNA including: driver tech, waveguide geometry on the tweeter, and voicing to ensure seamless integration for optimal matching in multi-channel systems.

Designed as the matching center channel for the series, the 1610 Center 8 employs a three-way W(T/M)W configuration with dual 8-inch woofers flanking a vertically aligned midrange and tweeter array. This arrangement helps maintain consistent dialogue intelligibility and wide listening coverage while preserving tonal consistency with the Tower 8 and Bookshelf 8 models.

Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 Overview
By eliminating one of the four 8-inch woofers used in the 1528 Tower 8, Arendal reduced cabinet volume by approximately 40% and weight by more than 40%, making the speaker significantly easier to move, position, and integrate into real-world listening environments. The shorter enclosure also raises the effective tweeter height relative to seated ear level, reducing the need for tilt or seating adjustments and improving overall system ergonomics. The Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 is rated at 28Hz–20kHz (±6dB anechoic), with 89.5dB sensitivity, a 4-ohm nominal impedance, and crossover frequencies of 380Hz and 2.6kHz. Compared to the 1528 Tower 8, the 1610 gives up just 2Hz of low-frequency extension at -6dB and 3Hz at -10dB—a modest tradeoff considering its smaller enclosure and one fewer woofer.
Arendal achieves acoustic time alignment in the 1610 Tower 8 through a sloped baffle, waveguide-controlled directivity, close driver spacing, and optimized crossover integration. Together, these elements promote coherent wavefront arrival and seamless driver integration at the listening position.
On paper, the 1610 Tower 8 delivers exactly what many enthusiasts have been asking for: much of the acoustic DNA and engineering philosophy of the flagship 1528 Tower 8 in a more practical, approachable, and room-friendly form factor that’s easier to accommodate in typical listening spaces.

The 1610 Tower 8 employs a refined 3-way architecture consisting of a 28mm aluminum-magnesium dome tweeter featuring the identical neodymium motor with a ferrite bucking magnet used in the flagship 1528 Series, along with a vented rear chamber to lower resonance, improve power handling, and minimize distortion at high output levels; a dedicated 5-inch carbon-fiber midrange utilizing an integrated sealed rear chamber that acoustically isolates it from the bass drivers for lower coloration and more consistent performance; and multiple 8-inch aluminum woofers handling bass duties.The tweeter is integrated into Arendal's RØST Essence waveguide, designed to control dispersion, reduce edge diffraction, and maintain consistent off-axis response for more uniform in-room behavior and stable imaging across a wide listening window. The woofers feature substantial double-stacked ferrite-vented motor assemblies coupled to rigid cast aluminum baskets with generous venting beneath the spider and around the voice coil, along with lightweight yet stiff aluminum cones. The 1610 Tower 8 employs an 11-element crossover network built with high-quality, high-power-handling components, including tight-tolerance 3% polypropylene film capacitors with an unusually high 250V rating. While this voltage rating is well beyond normal loudspeaker operating requirements, it provides additional voltage headroom and reduces dielectric stress during demanding playback conditions. The use of heatsinked power resistors further demonstrates Arendal’s focus on thermal management and sustained high-output performance. Three air-core inductors are employed in the critical midrange and tweeter circuits for excellent linearity, while a larger steel laminate- core inductor is used in the high-current bass section where low resistance and power handling are priorities.
The cabinet is anchored by a substantial 46mm layered HDF front baffle and 25.4mm HDF side panels, both engineered for exceptional rigidity and vibration control. Extensive internal bracing further suppresses panel resonance and reinforces overall enclosure inertness. Build quality remains quintessentially Arendal—dense, precise, and overbuilt—with tight tolerances and a durable satin finish designed for long-term durability rather than visual flair.
The full magnetic grille system covering the woofer array is more polarizing. While it provides a clean, uniform “covered” appearance, it also obscures much of the driver architecture that visually defines the design. As a result, the presentation feels more subdued compared to the exposed-driver aesthetic favored in many modern high-end loudspeakers, including designs from Perlisten. Subjectively, the speakers present more convincingly with the grilles removed, where the engineering intent is fully visible.
Unlike the flagship 1528 Towers, which use full-width aluminum outriggers spanning the width of the cabinet, the 1610 Towers employ individual heavy-duty outrigger feet that bolt directly to the underside of the cabinet and extend outward to widen the speaker's stance. While the implementations differ, both designs are engineered to provide a broad, rigid, and stable footprint with excellent resistance to tipping. In both cases, vibration control is provided by integrated rubber pucks and rubber interfaces between the support structure and cabinet, while the full-width aluminum outriggers on the 1528s are intentionally designed to remain structurally rigid. The 1610 Tower 8 features a substantial 4-inch bottom-firing port and includes an optional port plug, which I would not recommend using in most applications, as it significantly reduces low-frequency output—one of the speaker's greatest strengths. The bottom-ported design offers several practical advantages: port noise is generally less audible due to floor loading and the lack of a direct line of sight to the listener, it gives the designer greater flexibility to implement a longer port than would often be practical on the front or rear baffle, and it benefits from boundary reinforcement from the floor to help maximize bass output and extension.
Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 – Bottom Ported (w port plug inserted) & Outriggers
Rear connectivity is handled via robust rhodium-plated copper binding posts designed for secure, high-current connections using either spades or banana plugs. One omission is the lack of bi-amping capability on the 1610 Tower 8, which will matter to a small subset of users, although it is a common design trade-off even in significantly more expensive loudspeakers such as the Focal Kanta No 2 and is unlikely to affect most real-world setups.
Overall, the 1610 Series blends controlled-directivity waveguide engineering with a heavily braced, high-mass cabinet platform, targeting low distortion, high output capability, and consistent tonal balance across real-world listening environments.
Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 Measurements and Analysis
The impedance response indicates a well-engineered bass reflex design with a port tuning frequency of approximately 26-27 Hz, evidenced by the classic dual low-frequency impedance peaks centered around 16 Hz and 48 Hz. The speaker exhibits a minimum impedance of roughly 3.3 ohms, qualifying it as a 4-ohm nominal loudspeaker under the IEC 60268-5 standard, since the minimum impedance remains above 80% of the nominal value (3.2 Ω for a 4 Ω rating). Most impressive, however, was the exceptional consistency between the left and right speakers: both measured virtually identical impedance magnitude, electrical phase, and resonance peak amplitudes, reflecting excellent driver matching, tight crossover component tolerances, and superb control of cabinet and port resonances.
What Type of Amplifier Do You Need for The Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 Speakers?
Despite its 4-ohm rating, the speaker presents a relatively benign electrical load thanks to its smooth impedance curve and modest phase angles, making it less demanding than many nominal 4-ohm designs. However, with a measured sensitivity of approximately 89 dB (2.83V/1m) and three 8-inch woofers capable of substantial output, these speakers deserve an amplifier with good current capability. While a quality AV receiver that is stable into 4-ohm loads will drive them well for most applications, listeners seeking reference-level playback or large-room performance will benefit from a high-current AVR or, preferably, dedicated external amplification to fully exploit the speakers' dynamic potential. While the Arendal 1610 Tower 8 performs well with less power, I recommend an amplifier capable of delivering at least 400 watts per channel into 4 ohms to fully exploit its exceptional dynamic range and output capability.

Our impedance measurements closely corroborate Arendal's published Klippel data, with nearly identical low-frequency resonance peaks, a vented-box tuning frequency of approximately 26–27 Hz, and a minimum impedance of about 3.3Ω at 95 Hz, closely matching Arendal's published 3.2Ω specification. While the impedance magnitude traces are in excellent agreement, our phase plot exhibits considerably smaller excursions than the published Klippel data, most likely reflecting differences in the respective measurement systems and data presentation rather than any meaningful difference in the loudspeaker's electrical characteristics.
Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 – CEA-2034 Measurement
Arendal's CEA-2034 measurements reveal a well-engineered loudspeaker with an exceptionally smooth on-axis response and excellent agreement between the on-axis and listening window curves, indicating consistent tonal balance across a broad listening area. The early reflections and sound power responses are also well controlled, while the gradually increasing directivity index demonstrates predictable dispersion without significant crossover-related directivity anomalies. Aside from a few minor response variations around 900 Hz and in the extreme treble, the 1610 Tower 8 exhibits the type of linear frequency response and smooth directivity behavior that research has shown to correlate strongly with neutral, accurate sound reproduction. This means the speaker should deliver a more consistent performance across different room environments and respond well to the benefits of equalization.
Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 – In-Room Sensitivity @ 1m 2.83V
Using the IEC 60268-5 methodology of averaging the on-axis response from 300 Hz to 3 kHz at 1 meter with a 2.83V input, I measured an average sensitivity of 88 dB SPL. This is just 1.5 dB lower than Arendal's published specification of 89.5 dB (2.83V/1m), an excellent correlation considering the manufacturer's specification is based on an anechoic measurement while ours was performed indoors at 1 meter. The response remains exceptionally smooth across the entire IEC sensitivity bandwidth with only minor variation, indicating a well-balanced design that does not rely on a pronounced upper-midrange or presence-region peak to artificially inflate its sensitivity rating. Overall, Arendal's published specification appears to be realistic and credible, with the small difference falling well within the expected variance between a true anechoic measurement and our in-room test methodology.
Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 – 1m In-Room Listening Room Response
The Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 demonstrated exceptional tonal accuracy in my in-room measurements, with the derived listening window response (averaged from on-axis and ±15° horizontal/vertical measurements at 1m) remaining within approximately ±1.5dB from 500Hz to 15kHz. This indicates excellent crossover integration and consistent directivity behavior from the dedicated midrange and tweeter sections of this 3-way design. Above 15kHz, the response rises approximately 4dB through 20kHz, a trend also observed in the anechoic on-axis measurement, suggesting this is an intentional voicing choice rather than a measurement artifact. This subtle high-frequency emphasis may contribute to a greater sense of air and detail without affecting the critical midrange and presence regions that largely determine perceived tonal balance.

Although my room is acoustically treated with Sonitus products for excellent overall sound quality, overcoming small-room acoustic challenges below the transition frequency remains difficult without deploying massive bass trapping in combination with a multi-subwoofer strategy. The Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8s exhibited room-dominated bass response at the main listening position, with the right speaker showing nulls around 28Hz, 49Hz, and 96Hz primarily caused by axial room modes and front-wall SBIR interactions, while the left speaker showed dips around 36Hz and 82Hz due to asymmetric boundary interactions and modal behavior. Despite the speakers being tuned into the upper-20Hz range, reduced output below 60Hz was caused by room-induced cancellations rather than any limitation of the loudspeaker design. A remaining ~20Hz-wide dip centered around 90Hz was consistent with SBIR and could not be effectively corrected with EQ because it results from destructive interference between direct and reflected energy; the practical solution in this room is strategically deploying subwoofers to alter room excitation patterns and achieve a smoother response.

Using Lyngdorf RoomPerfect calibration combined with manual PEQ adjustments, I was able to significantly optimize the bass response, minimize the impact of the mostly high-Q nulls, and achieve a combined response of approximately ±5dB from 16Hz–200Hz at the main listening position.
Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 In-Room Measurements @ MLP for Music Room
The Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8s produced significantly more bass gain in my music room compared with my larger dedicated theater room. The added low-frequency reinforcement came at the expense of some imaging precision, as the theater room offers superior acoustic control and greater symmetry. That said, after dialing in the system with RoomPerfect calibration and some manual PEQ adjustments, I was able to achieve very similar left and right speaker responses at the main listening position.
Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 Listening Tests
I set up the Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 loudspeakers in my dedicated music room approximately 6 feet apart and 2 feet from the front wall. My listening position was centered about 8 feet away, with my chair unfortunately located close to the rear wall—a high-pressure zone that produces significant standing-wave buildup. Without room correction, this seating position exaggerates bass output on low-frequency-rich recordings, making DSP correction essential for accurate evaluation.

The system was powered by a Lyngdorf TDAI-3400 digital streaming amplifier rated at 400 watts per channel into 4 ohms and connected with Kimber 12TC speaker cables.
I also moved the 1610 Tower 8s into my acoustically treated theater room for additional listening tests to better understand their true performance in a more ideal environment. Measuring 25' × 20' × 10', the theater room presents a greater challenge for achieving deep bass at high output levels than my music room, making it an excellent space to push the speakers toward their limits and evaluate how they behave under demanding conditions.

Dominique Fils-Aimé's catalog is reference-grade audiophile material that also happens to be outstanding music. "Birds" from Nameless remains one of my favorite demo tracks thanks to its powerful bass impact, exceptional clarity, and expansive ambience. Even without room correction, the Arendal 1610 Tower 8 delivered tight, controlled bass with excellent tonal balance. The presentation was neither forward nor bright, while vocals sounded natural and articulate. The spacious soundstage convincingly placed the ambient bird sounds well beyond the speaker boundaries. This track quickly became a favorite at both Audio Advice Live and the Florida Audio Expo shows after Don Dunn and I repeatedly introduced it during demonstrations. It's an essential track for evaluating loudspeakers.
Radiohead's "Packt Like Sardines in a Crush'd Tin Box" exposed the limitations of my room more than the speakers themselves. Without correction, excessive room gain made the bass overly prominent. Engaging RoomPerfect immediately restored balance, tightened the low end, and opened the soundstage dramatically. The 1610 Tower 8 projected an enveloping presentation that often resembled a multichannel system despite operating in two-channel stereo. Subtle details buried in the mix were reproduced effortlessly.
Stevie Ray Vaughan's "Tin Pan Alley" showcased the speaker's dynamic capability and tonal accuracy. His guitar possessed the proper bite and harmonic richness without becoming aggressive, while the rim shots exhibited realistic decay and ambience. This recording begs to be played loudly, and the Arendals never sounded strained or dynamically compressed. Vaughan's voice remained natural and free of excessive chestiness, while RoomPerfect eliminated room-induced bass bloom, allowing the speakers' excellent low-frequency control to shine. The result was a presentation that captured both the explosive dynamics and delicate nuances of the performance.
Rebecka Törnqvist's rendition of "Angel Eyes" is my favorite interpretation of this classic, both for its pristine recording quality and tasteful arrangement. Her vocals sounded beautifully natural through the 1610 Tower 8, while the piano exhibited exceptional attack and realism. The speaker's excellent resolution also brought the saxophone solo vividly to life, revealing the subtle breath and reed textures that make the performance feel remarkably intimate.
George Benson's cover of Michael Jackson's "The Lady in My Life" is essential listening for fans of either artist. Benson's tasteful phrasing and effortless groove reaffirm why he remains one of the finest jazz guitarists of his generation. The Arendal 1610 Tower 8 captured the rhythmic drive and musicality of the performance beautifully, making it impossible not to become immersed in the music. If this track doesn't have you tapping your foot, the problem probably isn't the recording.
I first became aware of Manu Katché's extraordinary drumming during Peter Gabriel's Secret World Tour in 1992. Years later, I discovered "November 99" from Manu Katché's 2004 album Neighbourhood. It remains one of my reference jazz tracks for evaluating loudspeakers, combining exceptional musicianship with outstanding 96 kHz/24-bit recording quality. With RoomPerfect engaged, the kick drum became noticeably tighter, while the natural decay of the drum kit emerged with remarkable realism. The Arendal 1610 Tower 8 created the convincing illusion of a live studio performance, with vibrant piano, uncompressed cymbals, and an airy, open presentation. Their imaging capabilities were fully revealed in this space, allowing the soundstage to expand well beyond the physical boundaries of the speakers in both width and depth. Tracks with highly decorrelated spatial information, such as Dominique Fils-Aimé’s “Birds” and Radiohead’s “Packt Like Sardines in a Crush’d Tin Box,” produced an almost holographic presentation, creating the impression of a full surround system from only a pair of loudspeakers. The phantom center image was also significantly stronger on tracks like Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Tin Pan Alley” and Rebekka Törnqvist’s rendition of “Angel Eyes.”
While the bass did not extend quite as deeply in my theater room compared with my music room, it remained exceptionally tight, controlled, and impactful. However, the R5t employs dual 6.5-inch woofers, whereas the Arendal uses three 8-inch woofers, giving the 1610 Tower 8 approximately 127% more cone area dedicated to bass reproduction. That substantial displacement advantage should translate into greater bass headroom and dynamic capability at higher playback levels.
The Focal Aria Evo X No.4 (MSRP: $6,598/pair) stands out for its beautiful cabinetry and refined industrial design and slightly lower price. It delivers an engaging, energetic presentation with a 1" aluminum-Magnesium tweeter, 6.5" flax midrange and dual 8" bass drivers, but is unlikely to quite match the Arendal's effortless output capability or bass authority.
Although the Revel PerformaBe F226Be (MSRP: $8,468/pair) is about $900 per pair more expensive, it is frequently cross-shopped in this price range. While the F226Be is renowned for its exceptionally neutral voicing, outstanding measurements, and smooth, well-controlled directivity, its dual 6.5-inch woofers simply cannot match the Arendal 1610 Tower 8's triple 8-inch woofers in bass extension, dynamic headroom, or maximum low-frequency output. My experience comparing the considerably more expensive F328Be against Arendal's Flagship 1528 Tower 8 was particularly revealing. Despite costing nearly twice as much, I found the 1528 delivered noticeably deeper bass extension along with a larger, more effortless presentation. upgrade in several key areas, featuring a lithium-magnesium tweeter, carbon-graphene
midrange, and more robust 8-inch aluminum woofers with upgraded motor
assemblies compared to the 1610 series. Despite being a large standmount design
with one fewer bass driver, the 1528 Monitor 8 delivers deeper bass extension,
reaching an anechoic F6 of 22 Hz versus 28 Hz for the 1610 Tower 8, while
maintaining similarly impressive power handling capabilities. Both models share
a 4-ohm nominal impedance and are engineered for high-output performance, but
the 1528 series pushes the limits further with its more premium driver
complement and flagship-level execution.
Remaining within the Arendal Sound ecosystem, the decision ultimately comes down to your preferred form factor and budget. The 1610 Tower 8 delivers greater sensitivity (89.5 dB vs. 85 dB) and a more traditional full-range floorstanding experience for $7,600 per pair, while the 1528 Monitor 8 commands approximately $5,900 per pair before adding Arendal's exceptionally sturdy stands. Once the cost of stands is factored in, the price gap narrows considerably, leaving buyers to choose between the visual impact and efficiency of a monolithic tower speaker or the flagship materials and deeper bass extension of a large standmount design.

The 1610 Tower 8 represents exactly the kind of
"trickle-down done right" engineering that rarely makes it intact
into a lower-priced model. Rather than diluting the flagship concept, Arendal
Sound has preserved the core design philosophy of the 1528 Series and reshaped
it into a form factor that fits more real-world rooms without sacrificing the
attributes that define the brand.
What stands out most is how little of the flagship experience feels missing. The 1610 Tower 8 inherits much of the architectural DNA from the 1528 Tower 8—time-aligned geometry, waveguide-controlled directivity, heavily braced cabinet construction, and a clear prioritization of linearity and low-frequency authority over superficial efficiency metrics. The result is a loudspeaker that exhibits a level of composure, refinement, and dynamic scale that is simply uncommon at this price point.
Tonally, the 1610 Series maintains the neutral, uncolored presentation Arendal has become known for. There is no sense of editorialization—just a clean, controlled delivery that lets recordings speak for themselves. The carbon-fiber midrange integration is particularly impressive, offering excellent coherence and natural timbre regardless of playback level. The aluminum-magnesium tweeter, while a step down in material exoticism from the flagship, still delivers outstanding extension, smoothness, and surprisingly delicate high-frequency decay.
Where the 1610 Tower 8 really separates itself from much of the competition is effortless scale. The combination of three high-excursion 8-inch woofers and a heavily damped enclosure produces deep, authoritative bass that remains composed even at elevated listening levels. This is not a speaker that compresses or hardens when pushed—it simply sounds bigger. Whether reproducing music or movie soundtracks, it delivers effortless dynamics while maintaining excellent tonal balance and low distortion.
Build quality continues to be one of Arendal's defining strengths. From the dense cabinet construction to the precision of the fit and finish, the 1610 Tower 8 feels engineered for decades of service rather than designed around manufacturing cost targets. That confidence is reinforced by Arendal's generous 10-year transferable warranty and 60-day in-home trial, giving buyers an unusually risk-free opportunity to evaluate the speakers in their own listening environment.
No product is without compromise, however. I would have liked to see bi-wire/bi-amp terminals included, particularly at this price point. That said, this isn't an uncommon omission—even considerably more expensive loudspeakers such as the Focal Kanta No.2 forego bi-amping provisions. I would have preferred Arendal Sound include a true outrigger system, as found on the flagship 1528 Series, rather than support feet styled to resemble one. That said, the supplied feet are perfectly functional and aesthetically convincing unless you happen to look underneath the speaker, where the difference becomes apparent.
Likewise, I'm not particularly fond of the full-length magnetic woofer grille. While functional, it protrudes from the cabinet and detracts from the otherwise elegant contours and beautifully flush-mounted driver layout. Fortunately, the grille is easily removable and can be stored away, allowing the speaker's attractive driver array and premium craftsmanship to take center stage.
When all factors are considered—engineering continuity from the flagship line, exceptional build quality, neutral voicing, deep bass extension, effortless high-output capability, and outstanding overall refinement—the value proposition becomes difficult to ignore. Even in a market filled with formidable competitors, the 1610 Tower 8 distinguishes itself not by excelling in just one area, but by consistently delivering across every meaningful performance metric.
Ultimately, the 1610 Tower 8 is everything I hoped it would be: a more practical, more room-friendly evolution of the flagship 1528 Tower 8 that preserves the vast majority of its performance while reducing its size, weight, and cost. For listeners seeking a reference-quality loudspeaker capable of delivering neutrality, authority, and effortless dynamics without venturing into five-figure territory, the Arendal Sound 1610 Tower 8 earns my highest recommendation. At its asking price, it's simply one of the finest loudspeakers I've had the pleasure of reviewing.
