Polk Audio Blackstone TL350 5.0 Satellite/Center System First Look
[0.22]
by tom,January 05, 2011 18:25
- With the new Polk Audio Blackstone TL350 5.0 Satellite/Center System, they've hit at least two of the three things we look for in small speakers. Aesthetically, they are small, glossy, and contemporary. Sonically, despite all the marketing speak, they seem to have the driver and enclosure technology behind them. While we'd prefer a larger, more full featured speaker, if you have to go small, making sure they aren't using 25 cent drivers is a huge plus. The only question mark in the equation is price. At a suggested retail of $750, the Blackstone TL350s may be a bit too rich for some. But with the Polk pedigree and driver history behind them not to mention the size and looks, Polk may be able to convince potential buyers that they are worth it. The only thing to do now is to go out and listen to them to make sure they live up to the hype.

2007 State of the CE Union Axiom Audio Interview
[0.22]
by clint,October 18, 2007 08:40
- Gene DellaSala interviews Ian Colquhoun and Tom Cumberland on the new A1400-8 amplifier and the new EP400 subwoofer. Axiom Audio loaded up their demo room with 4 EP400s as well as 4 EP600s in order to show that additional subwoofers can even out bass response - and that a smaller subwoofer can and will sound the same as a large subwoofer in a smaller room. We can attest to this fact as the EP400s and EP600s were switched back and forth and there was not much difference between the two in the demo room.

- We had the opportunity to review the Ai40 from Canadian audio manufacturer Fluance. This Bluetooth speaker pair comes with a 5 inch woofer and 1 inch ferrofluid cooled tweeter and 35 watts x2 built in amplification. At $199/pair they’re in the sweet spot for affordability vs. performance, but are they worth it? Read our detailed review and check out our YouTube video to find out.

River Cable Flexygy 8 Speaker Cable Review
[0.22]
by Gene,September 20, 2005 20:00
- The River Cable Flexygy 8 flat speaker cable doesn't fall under the "poorly designed" category by any means. It's a superbly built product that provides higher installation flexibility because of its flat design and ultra low capacitance and resistance. It's well thought out in that you can order it from the manufacturer terminated either for low inductance or low capacitance to better suit your needs. At $373.69 for a 3 meter pair, the Flexygy 8 came in at a 90% cost premium to my favorite cable in their product line. Is it worth it? You decide.
