Reference System 6: Jim Robbins [0.18] by clint,December 31, 2006 20:00
Starting many years ago with a meager HTIB, TV and VCR, this system has worked its way into a full home theater with 106” projection screen, full 7.1 audio setup, and high definition sources. You can read about his progression in “Am I an Audoholic?” The primary motivation behind upgrades for Reference System 6 has been primarily been a better video gaming experience, but movie watching was a close second. This theater is the primary screen for movies and daily TV viewing. Of course, music is a part of the Robbins’ household, so there is also a separate 2-channel system in the main living room.

When our friends at DTS offered to fly me to San Francisco to cover a seminar they were putting together, I was intrigued. From it's somewhat generic sounding title I was at a loss to figure out how this seminar presentation would play out.

Tied together in this home are a whole-house audio and video system, lighting, heating and cooling, security, surveillance cameras, motorized window treatments, irrigation and pool and spa controls.

Eilex PRISM EQ Interview With Yoshi Asahi [0.18] by smunz,October 13, 2014 09:00
Eilex's PRISM EQ isn't your run of the mill room correction system. In fact, the folks at Eilex note that it's not a room correction system at all. Instead, PRISM is designed to correct the acoustic power volume density your speakers. To accomplish this, PRISM takes a series of near field measurements, and applies VIR (variable-resolution impulse response) filters. To learn more about the system, we had a chat with Eilex's own Yoshi Asahi. Want to know all the details? Check out our full interview.
