Coronavirus COVID-19 Audioholics Survival Guide [0.19] by Gene,March 15, 2020 01:00
I recently tested positive for COVID-19 after struggling with what I thought at the time was a stomach bug or flu on and off for 8 straight days. While I'm in quarantine until I produce 2 consecutive negative test results, I decided to write up this little Coronavirus survival guide from the perspective of an Audioholic. I offer some treatments that helped relieve my symptoms while also suggesting some good audio and visual reference materials to entertain you while you get better. Check out my Youtube discussion of symptoms and treatments for COVID-19 for more information.
Acoustics at Trade Shows [0.19] by clint,October 19, 2004 20:00
After a summer break, it's back to acoustics. I had intended writing on DIY and some basic room set up tips. However, that's going to wait until next month. I am just returning from the Denver Audio Fest. This was a really great show in my opinion. It was not crowded as it was the first year and you could go into the rooms and listen to your heart's content. Most of the rooms were 2 channel. There were many high efficiency, low power SET rooms (typically horns). But, there was a nice display of solid state and more mainstream loudspeakers as well. In other words, it wasn't a "glass" show, but rather a very nice and refreshing mix.
First Steps - Designing an Auralex Treated Room [0.19] by clint,January 26, 2007 17:17
After all the years of my restriction to living space as my primary theater room, I was excited to be finally building a dedicated room in my new home for this single purpose. Realizing my new theater room had some issues, mostly in symmetry and low end modal control, I elected to call on the pros from Auralex to see what kind of solution they could offer to truly make it a reference quality room worthy of the name Audioholics.

The options for HDTV movie viewing keep growing. Some might say it’s been a long time coming but finally Amazon’s Video on Demand service is offering some HD movie titles. The service goes out to several consumer devices including IPTV by Panasonic.
Lionsgate Films to Give Digital Copies on iTunes [0.19] by wayde,March 11, 2008 09:33
It's a case of one studio that gets it, almost. Lionsgate Films is known for punishing action and gross out horror films that appeal to a younger audience. It could be why they've decided to experiment with digital downloads on DVD. But this experiment is limited to only two titles for now. The digital movie deal from Lionsgate leaves a lot to be desired.
FAQ: Converting a Room to a Home Theater [0.19] by Gene,May 07, 2015 09:05
This month's FAQ comes from a new subscriber to Audioholics and he asks how best to convert a regular room to a home theater listening space. We discuss running 20A dedicated lines for power amplifiers and subwoofers and if they are really needed, passing cables through walls, as well as types of passive room treatments (if any) needed for bass frequencies.
