[0.24]
by jclarke,April 06, 2008 14:59
- The Evolve wireless sound system from Griffin Technology brings yet another iPod speaker system to a crowded market category. But the Evolve stands alone as the first truly wireless speaker system I have reviewed, and it proved to be a great little product that any iPod owner will be interested in checking out.

Jays d-JAYS Earphones Review
[0.24]
by J. Henry Gaddabout,December 03, 2007 15:06
- The Jays line of earphones consists of the j-JAYS, an entry level model at $49.99 MSRP, the d-JAYS in the middle of the line, and the q-JAYS at $179 MSRP. The Jays line-up also offers the BlueStreamer stereo Bluetooth adapter and the m-Jays, which is designed to allow for use of aftermarket headphones with mp3-capable cell phone devices. Packaging is nice but not ostentatious. Fit-and-finish seems top rate.

Klipsch Image Earphones Review
[0.24]
by jclarke,February 26, 2008 00:45
- The Klipsch Image earphones are proported to be the "world's smallest high performance earphones," and there is no doubt that they are unlike anything I have seen. I remember seeing them at CEDIA last year and thinking that they would probably be yet another overpriced, mediocre sounding earbud for the iPod. Recently Klipsch sent me a pair and I have been using the Image earphones for a couple of months now, and I am pleased to tell you that I had it all wrong.

Cable Keeper Review: A Hip Cable Organization Solution
[0.24]
by cliff,June 29, 2014 09:00
- As the name implies, the Cable Keeper seeks to remedy the mess of cables that are part and parcel of being an electronics junkie, installer, or Audioholic. In short, it's a functional and stylish solution for organizing and transporting cables. There are some limitations of course. The Cable Keeper isn't designed to accommodate long, thick cables; however, most anything under 15' should fit. I see it being particularly useful for those who frequently find themselves digging around a drawer for a specific cable, or taking cables and other small electronics to and from home or the workplace.

Energy Take Classic 5.1 Speaker System Review
[0.24]
by jclarke,November 27, 2007 13:25
- The Take Classic system picks up where the Take 5 system left off, and adds aggressive (value) pricing that makes this system worthy of a closer look. I have had the Take Classic system set up in my Reference Theater for the past several weeks, and can tell you that if you are considering (gasp!) a Home Theater in a Box, stop right where you are and take time to read this review.

Audio Cables - Science or Religion?
[0.24]
by Gene,August 29, 2004 20:00
- It is interesting that audio is the exclusive field where cables have been so hotly debated. It seems to be the only field where science and engineering practices, along with common sense, are almost completely ignored by many cable vendors and audio forum cult hobbyists. We recently added a Youtube video discussing the myths that lead people to believe the more you spend, the better the sound.

Debunking the Myth of Speaker Cable Resonance
[0.24]
by Gene,January 28, 2013 02:00
- Some exotic cable vendors and esoteric audio magazines claim that speaker cables exhibit electrical and/or mechanical resonance at audio frequencies and that the RLC nature of the cable drastically changes at these frequencies causing the alleged cable resonance. They often cry bloody murder and seek out solutions to fix this alleged problem to preserve the pristine audio and save their golden ears from such atrocious distortion. I believe this claim was fabricated either because of a lack of understanding of basic principles of electronics, or an attempt to initiate a false scare tactic to rationalize how an exotic cable vendor can justify slapping an RLC network on the cable and charge consumers high asking prices. Some even pervert this fallacy one step further by suggesting it is necessary to isolate your speaker cables from mechanical vibrations. Before you run out and shop for a solution to stop your cables from resonating either electrically or mechanically, it may be best to examine if this is a real or made up problem to concern yourself with.
