Onkyo HT-RC260 7.2 Channel Home Theater Receiver Preview [0.13] by tom,October 12, 2010 01:05
For $500 (a full $350 less than the HT-RC270), the Onkyo HT-RC260 packs in a lot of features. What are you missing are a few speaker connection points to make switching configurations easier, an input or two, analogue pre-ins and pre-outs, THX certification, and all of the network features. What you get is the same amp section, Faroudja DCDI Cinema video processing, a ton of HDMI 1.4a inputs, dual subwoofer outputs, and all the latest audio processing. If you aren't that interesting in networking and streaming, you can save a cool $350 by going with the HT-RC260 over the 270. That's two pairs of shutter glasses and a 3D Blu-ray! For some that is money well saved.

Onkyo TX-NR535 and TX-NR636 Receiver Preview [0.12] by tom,April 09, 2014 09:00
While the $500 TX-NR535 can pass through 4K/60Hz content and has HDMI version 2.0 ports, the $700 TX-NR636 adds HDCP 2.2 compliance for the best possible chance of future-proofing your receiver purchase. Regardless, both of these receivers offer fantastic features for the price and should do well for the company. Between HDMI 2.0, integrated Bluetooth and WiFi, and low prices, Onkyo looks to have winners on their hands.

Pioneer Elite VSX-LX103 7.2CH Atmos AV Receiver Inflates Power Not Price! [0.12] by anthony,April 18, 2018 00:00
We recently previewed the Onkyo TX-SR383 and since Onkyo bought Pioneer's Home Theater Entertainment section a few years ago, it was only a matter of time until receivers with similar feature sets and performance came out from Pioneer. The Pioneer VSX-LX103 is a $499, 7.2 channel receiver with all the video bells and whistles that we liked about the Onkyo TX-SR383 but with Dolby Atmos, DTS:X processing. Sadly, parent company Onkyo appears to be rubbing off on Pioneer by artificially and erroneously inflating the power ratings by stating 170 watts/ch despite it actually only be 80 watts/ch. Read on for more details.
Golden Triangle, Redbook CD, Soundproofing and Dual Subs [0.12] by clint,August 30, 2004 20:00
Please explain the golden triangle rule I have a Sony 5.1 Dolby surround sound system and yet to fine the perfect placement for the front speakers. They are at 1 foot above ear level for the 2 prime seats (the wife and me) but I am not sure how far apart to place them, we do not to seem to get"movement" of the sound it seems to jump to the rear at time and not fluidly move from front to rear.
Onkyo TX-NR3008 9.1 Channel Networking A/V Receiver Preview [0.12] by david,June 14, 2010 18:55
Onkyo has begun refreshing its line up of receivers and one down from the top is the new TX-NR3008 networked model, the successor to the TX-NR3007. Sharing many of the features of its big brother (TX-NR5008), the TX-NR3008 is a 9.2 channel receiver that features a THX Certified Ultra 2 Plus amplifier section capable of making 140 watts at 8 ohms over 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The TX-NR3008, all in all, appears to be nearly everything that the TX-NR5008 is with few compromises to hit the lower price point.
