Every competitive Audio company had their version of the soundbar at CES Las Vegas this year and Polk Audio was no exception. We were really impressed by Polk Audio’s Magnify Mini soundbar at the CEDIA show in Dallas, Texas last fall. With the Magnify Mini, you get great sound out of a small package. So when Polk announced its first home theater sound bar under $200 at CES in Las Vegas, Nevada we were excited to see what they had to offer. The Signa S1 comes in at $179 which would make it one of the lowest price sound bars we have previewed here at Audioholics. It stands at only 2 inches tall, but looks as though it will have the ability to really make some noise.

The $179 price point comes complete with a slim wireless subwoofer for music and home theater applications. The Signa S1 will come with 5.1 Dolby Digital decoding and Polk’s patented Voice Adjust system as well as the ability for Bluetooth streaming.

Like many of its competitors, the Polk Signa S1 can be setup via an included optical cable and boasts several features to improve the listening experience including one-button preset EQ settings like “Movies,” “Music,” and “Night” modes.

“As the sound bar market continues to heat up, Polk Audio has placed an emphasis on providing a range of solutions that pair the latest technologies and form factors alongside Polk Audio’s heritage great sound. In an effort to round-out Polk Audio’s already large family of sound bar solutions, the Signa S1 is aimed at reaching users who seek great sounding, high-value solutions at an achievable price point.”

Michael Greco, global brand director, Polk Audio

The Polk Audio Signa S1 Soundbar will be available in Spring of 2017 and will cost $179 with the wireless subwoofer. If it's anyhting like the other reasonably priced products coming out of Polk the sub $200 Signa S1 Soundbar may turn the soundbar market on its ear.
