Oppo BDP-93 Universal 3D Blu-ray Player Full Review [0.25] by clint,March 15, 2011 06:05
How do you upgrade the number one solution for Blu-ray on the market? It's hard, but Oppo Digital did it by adding 3D Blu-ray capability to their new BDP-93 (still) Universal Blu-ray player. Oh, and they changed the chassis to eliminate the one thing Lexicon's Oppo seemed to improve on their player last year. Plus they also added more network functionality in the form of Netflix and Blockbuster on Demand streaming movie services. Come to think of it, they switched over to the ever-increasingly, highly regarded Marvell QDEO video processor and even added a second flexible HDMI output that can be used for dual monitors, or for sending just audio to an AV receiver. Oh, and the player supports wireless-N networking out of the box. Holy cow, they did a lot, and I'm still in the intro of the review. Hold tight, this may take a while.

Oppo BDP-83 Universal Blu-ray Player - Update [0.25] by clint,December 11, 2008 11:15
We got our hands on some information about the pending release of Oppo Digital's universal Blu-ray player, due late December or early January to a handful of "guinea pig" early adopters/beta testers. That's right, we said "Universal" Blu-ray player. Except for Denon's ultra-high-end $3800 DVD-A1UDCI, this is the first universal BD player that will hit the market able to play DVDs, CDs, SACDs and DVD-Audio discs. And the best part is that it will hit the streets at a price somewhere between $499 and $599. Oh, and it will include Anchor Bay's VRS video processing... and do 1080p/24Hz output for both DVD and Blu-ray. And... and...
Oppo PM-1 Planar Magnetic Headphones Review [0.25] by tom,January 31, 2015 12:00
The Oppo PM-1 Planar Magnetic Headphones are the first foray into the headphone market from the company that has already taken the DVD and Blu-ray market by storm. The PM-1s surprised us in their ability to play cleanly and clearly with any device or source material. They were light enough for long listening sessions and forgiving of poorly recorded or encoded material. For $1,100, they aren't cheap but they are very, very good. These are reference level headphones. Check out our recently added YouTube video review and comparison of the Oppo PM-1 and PM-2s.
New Company Reavon Promises High-End UHD Blu-ray Players [0.25] by Jacob Green,May 16, 2021 02:15
A new French company called Reavon is developing a pair of conspicuously Oppo-like Blu-ray players. The UBR-X100 (€800) and UBR-X200 (€1,600) are slated to arrive in Europe soon, but US pricing and availability are still unknown. Like Oppo’s defunct but beloved players, the Reavon players use an SoC (System on Chip) from MediaTek for video processing. The UBR-X100 is a digital-only transport, while the UBR-X200 features audiophile-quality DACs from Burr-Brown. Read on to learn more.
Oppo BDP-93 3D Blu-ray Player Now Shipping! [0.25] by clint,December 20, 2010 11:55
According to Oppo and our friend Robert Silva over at About.com, the company has finally announced that the highly-anticipated BDP-93 3D/Network Streaming Blu-ray Disc player is now available for order. We were given the impression that Oppo was intending to release it before the end of the year when they allowed us to debut the BDP-93 Blu-ray player to the world during the CEDIA Expo in Atlanta. The player supports 3D Blu-ray as well as Netflix, Blockbuster, and more) and continues to support both SACD and DVD-Audio Disc playback, making it a true universal player (one of only a few left on the market). The Oppo BDP-93 can also play back media files from USB thumb drives and eSATA drives. For video processing, Oppo went with the Marvell QDEO Kyoti-G2 88DE2750 upscaling chip and the unit has dual HDMI 1.4a outputs that can divide and conquer between audio and video or even mirror outputs to two locations.
