The new Marantz SR5003 has arriveds! This hot new $799 receiver features three HDMI 1.3 inputs, XM and Sirius support, and an all new front panel design that utilizes a combination of aluminum extrusion and glass-reinforced resin to help shield the unit's circuitry and absorb internal and external resonances. On the inside, the SR5003 features a high capacity power transformer, and all audio circuits are mounted on a separate circuit board for maximum isolation from possible contamination from video and control signals. A couple months back, Denon and Marantz both announced they would eventually offer an optional upgrade to Auro-3D on certain A/V receiver and pre/pro offerings. Now that promise has been fulfilled, with both companies offering the option on their website. The upgrade is priced at $199, and brings support for native Auro-3D content as well as the Auro-Matic upmixer. Models eligible for the upgrade include the AV7702 pre/pro and SR7009 A/V receiver from Marantz, along with the AVR-X7200W, AVR-X5200W, and AVR-X4100W receivers from Denon.
