Denon has been steadily expanding its ecosystem of HEOS-powered wireless audio products, bridging the gap between traditional Hi-Fi systems and modern multiroom streaming. I’ve experienced that integration firsthand in my own home with the Denon Home 550 soundbar paired with its wireless subwoofer and a pair of Denon Home 150 speakers used as rear surrounds. While I would have liked to see the 550 as a wider soundbar to expand the physical width of the virtual soundstage, the Atmos processing software produced a remarkably convincing three-dimensional listening experience. The system delivered an impressively immersive Atmos environment with plug and play setup.

Now Denon is expanding that ecosystem further with their introduction of the Denon DP-500BT Bluetooth turntable along with a new generation of wireless speakers: the Denon Home 200, Denon Home 400, and Denon Home 600. Together they demonstrate Denon’s vision of a connected home audio system where streaming music, home theater audio, and even vinyl playback can move seamlessly from room to room.

DP-500BT Turntable

The DP-500BT, is a premium belt-drive turntable designed to combine classic analog playback with modern wireless flexibility. While Denon has long been known for serious analog hardware including the flagship Denon DP-3000NE that we recently reviewed, the DP-500BT is clearly aimed at listeners who want the character of vinyl without the complexity often associated with traditional turntable setups.

DP-500BT

The turntable’s foundation is a precision belt-drive motor system paired with a die-cast aluminum platter and a static-balanced S-shaped tonearm. These elements work together to reduce vibration and resonance while maintaining stable rotational speed for accurate playback. The heavier aluminum platter helps smooth speed variations while the tonearm is designed to maintain consistent tracking across the record surface.

Denon also keeps setup simple by shipping the turntable with a pre-installed moving-magnet cartridge and a built-in switchable phono preamp. This allows the DP-500BT to connect directly to powered speakers or integrated amplifiers without requiring additional external components.

Wireless Ecosystem & HEOS

One of the more interesting aspects of the DP-500BT is how it fits into Denon’s broader HEOS multiroom ecosystem. With built-in Bluetooth transmission supporting codecs like aptX, aptX HD, and aptX Adaptive, the turntable can stream vinyl playback wirelessly to compatible speakers, headphones, or soundbars.

Operationally, the DP-500BT strikes a balance between manual vinyl playback and everyday convenience. The turntable features semi-automatic operation with an auto tonearm lift and playback stop function at the end of a record. This helps protect both the stylus and the record grooves while eliminating the need to monitor playback constantly.

The design follows what Denon say’s is a "refined aesthetic language inspired by higher-end analog products. A clean two-tone finish and minimalist form factor allow the turntable to blend naturally into contemporary living spaces while still maintaining the visual presence expected from a Hi-Fi component."

That wireless capability becomes particularly compelling when paired with Denon’s expanding Home speaker lineup. The new Home 200, 400, and 600 speakers are designed to integrate seamlessly into the HEOS platform, allowing listeners to distribute audio across up to 64 compatible devices in 32 zones throughout the home. Through the HEOS app, users can access high-resolution streaming services like TIDAL, Qobuz, and Amazon Music HD while maintaining synchronized playback between rooms.

This means that a vinyl record playing on the DP-500BT could be streamed wirelessly to speakers in other rooms just as easily as a digital playlist—effectively merging analog and streaming audio into one unified home audio system.

New Denon Home Speakers

Alongside the turntable, Denon is introducing the latest generation of its HEOS-enabled wireless speakers: the Home 200, Home 400, and Home 600. Each model is designed to match different room sizes and listening preferences while maintaining the same ecosystem connectivity and design language.

Home 200

The Home 200 serves as the compact entry point in the lineup. Despite its smaller footprint, it uses a three-driver, three-amplifier configuration intended to deliver "room-filling" sound with greater spaciousness than its size might suggest.

Home 400

Home 400

Stepping up the range, the Home 400 adds a six-driver array along with dedicated up-firing drivers designed to expand the soundstage vertically and horizontally. This configuration can create a more immersive presentation, particularly when playing Dolby Atmos Music content.

Home 600

600

At the top of the lineup, the Home 600 incorporates dual opposing 6.5-inch woofers along with additional tweeters and midrange drivers to deliver deeper bass and higher output levels. This model is intended for larger rooms where greater scale and impact are required.

Across the Denon Home speaker selection, Denon emphasizes materials and finishes designed to integrate naturally into living spaces. Woven fabric surfaces, anodized aluminum accents, and soft-touch controls reflect a design philosophy aimed at blending technology into the home rather than making it the focal point.

Conclusion

Home 200Denon’s latest releases highlight a growing trend in home audio: blending traditional high-fidelity playback with modern wireless convenience. The expanded lineup positions the company more directly against the long-dominant Sonos ecosystem. Sonos essentially defined the whole-home wireless speaker category and remains the market leader with a broad product lineup and polished multiroom software experience. However, Denon’s HEOS platform has increasingly closed that gap by offering comparable multi-room streaming while adding features often missing from competing systems, such as Bluetooth connectivity and additional physical inputs, sometimes at more competitive pricing. The introduction of the new Denon Home 200, 400, and 600 speakers paired with products like the DP-500BT turntable signals Denon’s continued push to offer a fully integrated ecosystem that blends traditional Hi-Fi components with modern wireless convenience in ways that directly challenge Sonos’ dominance in the connected-home audio market.

The DP-500BT turntable preserves the tactile experience and sonic character of vinyl while introducing Bluetooth streaming that allows records to be enjoyed throughout the home. Paired with the new Home 200, 400, and 600 speakers, the system illustrates Denon’s broader vision of a fully connected listening environment, one where streaming services, home theater audio, and even analog records coexist within a seamless multiroom ecosystem. For listeners who want the warmth of vinyl without giving up the flexibility of wireless audio, this combination may represent one of the most approachable ways to integrate analog sound into a modern home.
