Velodyne DD Software Ver. 2.0

Visiting Velodyne was one of the highlights of the show for us. Probably because we know of no other company that are so passionate about quality bass as we are. Bruce Hall, President of Velodyne was on site to give us a tour of their booth and discuss all of their new and exciting product developments.

Equipped in all Velodyne Digital Drive series subwoofers is their room management system which allows you to better integrate system bass response in your room by compensating for room acoustics and speaker placement issues. Using their calibration microphone and connecting to a video display, Digital Drive will graphically output a continuous sweep tone ever few seconds from 15Hz to 200Hz to measure how your DD subwoofer is integrating into your room. Armed with an 8 band digital graphic/parametric equalizer, you can tune in optimized bass response or allow the software to automatically do it for you.

What is even more impressive is that Velodyne provides complete control over crossovers and subsonic filter cutoffs and slopes, variable phase control and polarity adjustments. Discussing some of the articles we have written integrating and setting up subwoofers , it was refreshing to see Velodyne's new DD series subwoofers armed with the tools we outlined in The Place for Bass article to properly integrate the subwoofer(s) into the system while also opening up more placement options for optimal bass performance.

[IMGP1057001] Some of the Feature Enhancements of DD Sofware Ver. 2.0 over Ver. 1.0 include:
