Anthony Grimani has been a friend to Audioholics for over 20 years and recently we got our first look at Grimani Systems MP-84 Mini-Port ceiling loudspeaker, further showcasing their commitment to innovation.

The MP-84 ($6,300/each or $12,200/pair) is a 2-way, bi-amplified active speaker promising high sound pressure levels, an incredible 106dB,  in a compact package with practically zero visual intrusion. It features an 8-inch woofer and a 2-inch tweeter, delivering full-range sound with deep bass and crisp highs.

The speaker's wide dispersion ensures consistent audio coverage, making it suitable for various applications, including home theaters and media rooms. Its aluminum enclosure and flush magnetic grilles allow it to blend seamlessly into any décor.

MP-84 Round and Square Ports

The “MP” stands for “Mini-Port” — the only visible part of the speaker is a tiny port covered by a 4-inch magnetic grille that sits flush with the ceiling.

The MP-84 represents our commitment to pushing the boundaries of audio excellence. With its sleek design and robust performance, it delivers an immersive sound experience that meets the highest standards of our discerning customers.

MP-84 Installed

Like other Grimani Systems speakers, the MP-84 features external digital signal processing and Room EQ. Calibration, diagnostics, and 24/7 monitoring are all available over IP. The DSP is used as a digital crossover and is a key ingredient in getting an accurate tonal balance and proper imaging from an in-ceiling speaker — an area in which Grimani Systems excels.

An integrator had been demoing the MP-84s to clients recently and I asked him how it went. He told me the only issue was needing to pick their jaws up off the floor after hearing it!

For those with the space and budget to invest in a premium entertainment system, this speaker offers unparalleled audio integration with a vertically invisible form factor.
