Introduction
Lee Ritenour is most noted for his unique playing style as one of the lead guitarists for the legendary jazz/rock/pop band of the 70's Steely Dan. He has since than embarked on a highly successful solo career spanning nearly 3 decades. The "Collection" CD is a compilation of Lee's greatest hits featuring artists such as Dave Grusin and the Yellowjackets.

Sound Quality
Although this CD was mastered back in 1991, it is a full digital recording, rivaling many newer CD's with respect to sound quality, tonal balance, and range. I really like Jazz CD's from the GRP collection because the artists from the GRP family pay special attention to the quality of the recording, mixing and remastering processes. Every song on this CD has excellent clarity and tonal balance, and freedom from excessive background noise. For example, Track #1 Early A.M Attitude has incredible high frequency range and is so pristine in recording quality that it pushes the envelope of PCM technology. Bass extension is a strong point of this CD. Track #11 The Sauce really pounds out the bass while testing the range capabilities of your speakers.

Conclusion
The recording quality of the CD alone is reason enough to buy it in my opinion. If you enjoy contemporary funky fusion jazz from an extraordinary guitarist than I highly recommend adding this CD to your collection.
