Universal Remote Control, Inc. introduced the Universal GAMER remote control at the 2007 CES. The UR7-G2 Universal GAMER combines functons for both the serious GAMER and those who enjoy watching movies and listening to music on a home theater system.

URC'S new remote, an affordable universal-style remote with the ability to operate several audio and video components, also incorporates buttons AND controls for major-brand game consoles.

Dedicated game-system buttons and customizable features make it easy to meet the specific needs of individual users, and also let them better integrate their game consoles into a home entertainment environment. As with other URC remotes, users further benefit by being able to replace a bunch of single-component controls with one universal-style remote, equally good for both right-and left-handed players.

The Universal GAMER has dedicated buttons for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Media Center PC systems, as well as for Sony's PlayStation. It can control 6 additional components, yet set-up is both quick and easy - and allows sufficient customization to satisfy specific needs. Pre-programmed codes guarantee the GAMER will work with all A/V components, including iPods and iPod Docks. A learning capability for 160 new commands ensures it will never become obsolete.

The Universal GAMER also features two new Universal Remote Control functions - MacroPower and SimpleSound. MacroPower turns several A/V components on or off at the same time, and uses macro keys to switch sources and inputs with the press of a single button. SimpleSound provides users with total and convenient 'punch-through' control over the volume functions on all their components, including devices - such as TiVo, DVD players and VCRs - that do not have built-in volume controls.

Additional features include 64 KB of non-volatile Flash memory, an infrared range of 30-50 feet, the ability to dedicate 9 MacroPower buttons for up to 20 commands per button, an ergonomic design shaped and balanced for comfort and easy one-hand operation, 51 soft-touch control buttons, and bright backlighting for easy viewing in dark environment.

The Universal GAMER is available now from authorized URC dealers at a suggested price of $49.95.
