Proton Electronic Industrial Co. showcased their 47-inch and 42-inch Puriti High-Definition LCD Televisions. Both TVs have widescreen displays, a broad contrast ratio of 1,200:1, a high brightness level of 500 nits, and a response time of 6.5 milliseconds. Both high-definition displays are formatted for 1080p resolution.

Proton´s 47-inch LCD TV features progressive scanning, a true 16:9 aspect ratio with screen size adjustments to accommodate multiple video sources, an anti-glare screen, and is compatible with resolution formats of 480i, 480p, 1080i, 720p and 1080p. It comes equipped with NTSC and ATSC tuners and video enhancements, which include a Motion Lagging Correction Engine for smooth screen action, 3D Color Management, 3-2 Pull Down to convert and display content originally shot for film, adjustable color temperature, and Picture-in-Picture and Picture-on-Picture functions.

Proton´s 42-inch LCD TV also features a large anti-glare screen, progressive scanning, and a 16:9 aspect ratio with 4:3 aspect ratio correction. It comes equipped with NTSC and ATSC tuners and video enhancements, including a Motion Lagging Correction Engine, 3D Color Management, 3-2 Pull Down, adjustable color temperature, Picture-in-Picture and Picture-on-Picture functions. Surround sound circuitry, and two 30-watt speakers.

Both sets are equipped with a built-in artificial intelligence system to analyze color frequencies and intensity to adjust the screen displays to present the most natural skin tones possible, and create truer blacks by automatically compensating for picture detail lost to poor contrast.

Puriti processing converts analog signals to a pure digital format, while filtering out noise artifacts. It delivers broad horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 176 degrees. Its 3D De-interlacing and Edge Enhancement capabilities reduce jagged edges from conventional interlaced video formats and provide smoother edges for moving objects.
Proton´s 47- and 42-inch Puriti LCD TVs are available now from authorized Proton dealers at suggested prices of $3,999 and $2,499, respectively.
