Artison Introduces Sketch LCR Speakers

Artison has brought to market Sketch LCR, with a price that fits well with the new EDTVs. Sketch LCR's aesthetics complement these new displays, with high quality sound.

Modeled after their successful Portrait LCR, the Sketch LCR is a less expensive plasma attachable front channel speaker system that is designed to disappear before your very eyes. Artison's second attachable speaker system has been developed specifically for use with plasma and LCD flat panel monitors. Artison is a new company founded by renowned loudspeaker designer Cary Christie in 2002. Sketch LCR is designed to provide true, clear audio reproduction and eliminate the need for a separate center channel box. By combining the Left, Center, Right speakers in two panels the sleek look of today's flat panel screens is retained.

"We actually make different grilles that are designed to match specific models of flat panel televisions from leading manufacturers in both dimension and color, so the visual transition from the monitor to the speaker is seamless." Mr. Christie says.

[ArtisanSketchLCRgrille] Sketch LCR Front speakers are configured with Artison's Patented and Patents Pending DualMono™ Center Channel designed to eliminate the need for a separate center channel speaker box. With DualMono, the upper portion of both right and left speakers produces an identically matched monaural sound, effectively placing crisp, clear dialogue in the center of the screen, rather than above or below as with a typical center channel speaker. The result is exceptional sound quality without the obtrusive appearance of most discrete high-performance center channel speakers - a particular benefit when the monitor is installed on a wall.

The Sketch LCR speakers incorporate two Vifa Soft Dome tweeters that measure flat to 16 KHz at 30 degrees off-axis, which produces an accurate and dynamic home theater experience to a larger listening area than most speaker systems. A unique Stage Tweeter for each of the left and right front channel is another Artison innovation that widens the front speakers' sonic image well beyond their actual physical placement for a true home theater experience.

Each Sketch LCR speaker is also engineered with two 4-1/2-inch long throw polypropylene midrange drivers that use a fixed phase plug for excellent polar response to beyond 2 KHz, with very low distortion. Without the grille, the speakers measure 23" H x 6" W x 3-5/8" D.

Artison's Sketch LCR components are sold separately at manufacturer's suggested retail prices of $1,100 per pair for the Sketch LCR Speakers including the UMB Grille/Bracket Kit (which currently can be ordered to match all plasma televisions above 40 inches).
