SVS is headed to Texas for T.H.E. Lone Star Audio Fest and T.H.E Film Festival. The company’s highly-regarded gear was chosen for the film festival’s reference speaker system — a multi-channel surround sound array with flagship SVS speakers and subwoofers — which will surely deliver an immersive and cinematic experience. The emerging filmmakers participating in the festival may never have heard their work reproduced at this level, and the system will also be used in demos for Lone Star Audio Fest attendees outside the film festival’s hours. SVS says the demo system is the largest the company has ever brought to a show. As the exclusive cinema sound provider for the festival, SVS will be back with this demo system for T.H.E. Show SoCal in June. T.H.E. Show, recently rebranded as “Total HiFi Experience,” is the longest-running HiFi show in the United States, and the 2025 calendar includes multiple new locations, including T.H.E. Lone Star Audio Fest. Both the audio show and the accompanying film festival run from May 2nd through May 4th, 2025 at the Embassy Suites Round Rock.

The reference SVS system looks to be pretty serious, combining the new SVS Ultra Evolution Series speakers and 17-Ultra R|Evolution Series subwoofers in a 7.4-channel configuration with a total cost of around $25K. A Denon receiver will be used to power the system, which will feature a trio of the SVS Ultra Evolution Pinnacle towers for the front LCR channels. Four of the smaller Ultra Evolution Tower speakers will be used for side and rear surrounds.

Finally, four of the brand’s flagship PB17-Ultra R|Evolution Subwoofers will provide considerable bass. SVS SoundPath speaker cables, subwoofer cables, and HDMI cables will be used to complete the system. The reference SVS experience will be available for show attendees to audition from 10am to 2pm each day before the film festival begins in the Highlands Ballroom. Show attendees can also attend the film festival and hear the system by purchasing a general admission ticket to the show. SVS will have representatives on hand to answer questions about the system and to share general knowledge on home theater setup and optimization.

It’s an honor to be chosen as the official speaker system provider for the inaugural T.H.E. Film Festival. At SVS, we pride ourselves on creating audio experiences that suspend your sense of disbelief and immerse you in the onscreen action. The Ultra Evolution speaker and 17-Ultra R|Evolution subwoofer system will showcase these emerging filmmakers in the most illuminating way possible by bringing the cinematic action to life with stirring sonic realism.

What is T.H.E. Film Festival?

T.H.E. Film Festival is an officially-recognized event on FilmFreeway — one of the largest film festival portals worldwide. The films compete for awards such as Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Design, and a variety of others. There will also be special awards for Best HiFi-Focused Content and Best Home Theater-Focused Content. Special awards may also be granted, as seen fit by the judges and jury. The festival covers a wide range of genres, and films completed during 2019 or later are eligible. Both short films and feature films may be submitted. Per festival guidelines, horror movies and adult films are excluded in order to keep the festival “family-friendly.”

While SVS has been a long-time exhibitor with T.H.E. Show, it’s truly wonderful to expand upon our experience with them. Showcasing their systems as part of T.H.E. Film Festival really drives home a shared mission of making not only a HiFi audio experience available to everyone, but also an incredible theatrical experience as well. SVS is actively participating in bridging the gap between creators of music and film and those who pride themselves on being audio and cinephiles.
