Continuing with the LifeStyles series of products displayed at CEDIA this year, we could not leave out another important part of our homes; the outdoors. The great outdoors are an integral part of family gatherings, hobbies and relaxation, especially for us Floridians. What could be better than some nice alluring tune while you sway and relax in your hammock enjoying the cool breeze? Better yet, enjoying a succulent BBQ with family and friends at the table listening to the Beach Boys tunes with no other worries other than calming an appetite. All of this with lots of convenience and control of what to listen to and where to place the sound source (aka. the speakers). Sonance introduced their new Landscape Satelite Series LS47SAT ,SLS67SAT and LS10SUB satellite and subwoofer products, respectively. These outdoor speakers and subs are crafted with a high quality PVC composite with UV-stable colors for lasting durability in any weather conditions. The speaker meshes are powder coated with steel to further protect the speaker components. These finishes allow for color customization and better camouflaging.

Among the many pros attracting consumers to this product is the 70 volt advantage, This capability allows for a daisy chain-configuration for expansion of additional speakers as needed, depending on the space’s size and configuration. Multiple zones capability allow for better control of the sound, variability of volume and frequency and still allow you choose different sources. This is one product with lots of features, configurations and eye vanishing capabilities, since you can hide them in between foliage, vegetation or within a tree thanks to available tree and surface mounts offered in this product.

During the booth demonstration, the music attracted my footsteps; especially since the design of the outdoor space resembled a nice Cabana or Mexican Villa atmosphere. Picturing a cool breeze, bright sunny skies with the chance to shade yourself on comfortable furniture actually put me in a relaxed state of mind. Without hesitation, I took my tired body to the cabana chairs and sat down. I was quite delighted with the easy to hear sounds, taking into consideration that these speakers were no bigger than a 6” woofer diameter. Apparently these little guys can hit a frequency response of 60-80 Hz to 20KHz +-3db depending on their size covering a  recommended listening area of 60 degrees at a distance of 10’ to 50’. The 10" sub’s woofer has a stated frequency response of 53-100Hz +-3db with a listening area of 2,000sq ft, to supplement the system with enough bass to delight you.  Weighing in at 50lbs, its obvious to us this sub means business so get ready to shake the outdoors and wow your guests with great sound and great deep bass.  We are eager to test these Sonance speakers and subs next spring once the weather warms nicely to fire up the barbecue.
