Key Digital Introduces the Digital Blaster Video Processor

by August 29, 2004

MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. - Aug. 30, 2004 - Key Digital Systems, Inc. announces the Digital Blaster, a new digital video processor that incorporates all-digital connectivity with the ability to convert SDI inputs (both 480i and 1080i video signals) to a DVI-D output video signal along with high-quality scaling. In addition, the Digital Blaster has an entire array of output format conversions.

With Digital Blaster there is no need to convert to analog, because an all digital, crystal-clear picture quality is now available. Starting with the high-quality SDI (Serial-Digital Interface) studio standard at 270 Mb/s (SD) or 1.485 Gb/s (HD), you have the cleanest form of video. With the Digital Blaster you can take this pure digital video signal, scale it with its built-in high-quality scaler, and provide DVI-D digital video out for your display. And for those users requiring RGBHV output, it is also available via a D-sub output connection.

Digital Blaster's use of Clear Matrix Pro(TM) and SDS(TM) (Super Digital Scaling), exclusive Key Digital technologies, allow the Digital Blaster to provide a level of performance that is beyond reproach at its price. Additional digital algorithms include DEE (Digital Edge Enhancement) which allows the Digital Blaster to have a smooth, film like quality, in processing the video image. Digital Blaster provides user-selectable DVI-D output resolutions for the following HD and SD resolutions.

 -- 720 x 480p @ 60 Hz
-- 1280 x 720p @ 60 Hz
-- 1280 x 768p @ 60 Hz
-- 1280 x 1024p @ 60 Hz
-- 1920 x 1080i @ 60 Hz
-- 1920 x 1080p @ 60 Hz
-- 1920 x 1080p @ 24 Hz
-- Pass-Through
