Single RCA Sub Cable to Y-Adapter?

Is there any advantage to connecting a single RCA sub cable using a Y-adapter to the white In/red LFE inputs on the sub instead of just the LFE input? Simple 5.1 HTS with a 10" ported sub that works and sounds good for the room size.

Sometimes you get a bit of extra gain that way (if your pre-out is weak), but most subs don't seem to need it. If you had stereo pre-outs then you'd want the sub to sum it to mono, tho.

What 'Loving said...
sometimes if your Music Sense or Auto-On doesn't work well, you can overcome it by using a splitter on a single LFE Out Sub Cable.
I did this on my Subs. I can't say I noticed an increase in volume/SPL... but my MusicSense does pretty much work flawlessly.
If you don't have a problem... Don't fix it! ;)
