Parts Express

One booth we were really glad to see was Parts Express.  For a Do-It-Yourselfer like myself, I just had to stop in and take a look at what they were showing. They were mainly displaying in-wall speakers like many other companies along with some newly added product lines. Dayton speakers are their brand but they are priced very low in comparison to others. I personally have a pair of the contractor series but that is the bottom of the barrel in that line. They sound pretty good for $40/pair. I have them in my family room connected to an old Dolby Pro Logic receiver which probably only plays from 300 to 7KHz, so I wasn’t looking high quality. I don’t know too much about the quality of the other in-wall Dayton speakers but I do know something about Dayton drivers.  They have some very low distortion measurements compared to many high priced drivers. Hopefully we’ll have a good DIY article about them in the future.
