Earthquake THOR-10” In-Wall Subwoofers

by January 09, 2006

Earthquake Sound Corporation introduced the THOR 20Hz in-wall subwoofer. Using two patented technologies, SWS shallow woofer system and SLAPS passive radiator technology, the Thor-10" In-Wall Subwoofer is a mere 3 ¾" deep while producing sub-harmonic bass claimed to be as low as 20Hz. Earthquake says that the Thor is the thinnest of its kind is shipped with a standard metal mesh grille and has two securing methods that include screwing the grille in from the front and snapping it in securely around the edges. It is also shipped with two custom grille rings giving the option to choose the material and match it to any color. This subwoofer screws directly into a standard 16-inch center-to-center stud gap, from the front: which means that the use of brackets and other complicated methods is eliminated completely. Resonance is eliminated by the use of dog-ear clamps that lock to the sheet rock, from top to bottom. The Inwalls have a unique look and design that demand attention. We would be interested to see how they measure out.
