Fortress Duval Sofa Cinema Chairs

We visited Fortress Seating at CEDIA this week to look at their new "Duval" motorized seatback chairs for home theaters. The people at Fortress are trying to bridge the gap between contemporary luxury couches and cinema chairs. At first look the new Fortress chair looks like a well made loveseat. As I sat on the couch the leather and padding conformed to my body made for a comfortable fit. The Visco Elastic and high density foams provided a soft but supportive cushion on the seat as well as the back. I didn't feel as though I was being swallowed by the chair. With a push of a button the footrest automatically rose before the seatback reclined, an important feature in maintaining the correct line of sight for a theater chair. The back of the sofa raises 4" to give the sofa the support needed for a comfortable cinema chair. The sofa has a motorized recline and footrest feature. Both the seatback rise and the recline can be powered by either a wall plug or battery. Optional sliding arms hide cup holders so that when not in use the seating compliments your room, without dominating the space.

Prices start at about $3000 per seat
