ELAC Speakers

These are new to us and we are recent fans of German speakers having been impressed with the Canton Karat Reference 2 series. The ELAC FS 608-4PI (available June 2004) features a 4PI tweeter which is a 360 degree omni-directional ribbon tweeter. This is used in conjunction with a one piece fabric dome tweeter. Woofers consist of an aluminum sandwiched 7" driver with a double magnet and Kapton basket. The construction of these speakers is absolutely rock solid, with a combination of extruded aluminum design, aluminum casting and MDF with internal tension rods.

All in all, we're looking forward to listening to these speakers and hearing how this construction pans out in real world applications.  We'll be sure to post more pictures of the internals of these speakers during our review.
