Samsung HT-BD3252 Home Theater System with Blu-ray

Samsung HT-BD3252 Home Theater System with Blu-ray

Samsung is definitely looking for a specific customer with the HT-BD3252. With limited inputs and outputs, we're betting this package will be a great add-on to a display sale. The WiFi, Netflix and Pandora streaming, USB port, network streaming, iPod support, and auto calibration should make your first time buyer (providing they have the right display) very happy.

Vizio VSB210WS Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer Review

Vizio VSB210WS Sound Bar with Wireless Subwoofer Review

A good deal; Americans are crazy for them. Waiting in line three days at an IKEA store for a free chair; bogo sales; no interest for 90 days; no payments till 2075; we can't get enough. "Recession proof" stores are successful because the stores provide a good deal. The Wal-Marts, Targets, Rooms to Go's, etc. prey on the American dream of getting the deal of a lifetime. Good deal or not, if America believes they are getting a deal, the product will be successful.

Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 Surround Speaker System

Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1 Surround Speaker System

In this economy, everyone is looking for a deal. There are also people that are that looking for big sound out of small speakers. While the first is relatively easy to find, the second is pretty much impossible. Boston Acoustics is taking their stab at it with their new SoundWare XS 5.1 Surround Speaker System. Available in black and white, the speaker system is designed to be shelf, wall or corner mounted. At just about a 4" cube, the system should have little problem blending into the background.

Paradigm Reference Hybrid Millenia In/On Wall Speakers

Paradigm Reference Hybrid Millenia In/On Wall Speakers

While the marketing literature for the new Paradigm Reference Hybrid Millenia speakers are full of fancy explanations and made up words for "we used AutoCAD," the speakers look to be well designed and certainly are priced right. While some might argue that an in-wall speaker should be invisible, with a speaker with as many styling cues as the Hybrid Millenia, that'd be a shame. And come on, you don't buy "Reference" speakers to hide them in a wall do you?

Atlantic Technology 1400 SR-z Height Speakers

Atlantic Technology 1400 SR-z Height Speakers

Dolby ProLogic IIz is a brand new DSP. It has only recently started showing up on home theater receivers. The Onkyo TX-SR607 has only started hitting store shelves and already Atlantic Technology had a speaker optimized for th PLIIz processing. The 1400 SR-z is a selectable dipole/bipole speaker with a compact size and shallow profile. At just over a foot wide, less than half a foot deep, and 8" tall, they are definitely compact. They are only 7lbs each so hanging them shouldn't be much of a problem.

MCM Custom Audio 50-908 5.0 Speaker System Review

MCM Custom Audio 50-908 5.0 Speaker System Review

When getting into the home theater game, the biggest stumbling block for early adopters is price. The MCM Custom Audio 50-908 speakers consist of the 50-9085 bookshelf speakers and the 50-9080 center channel. As an entry level speaker, the MCM Custom Audio 50-908's blew me away. While they are obviously limited by their price point, what they do manage to do is overperform. For just over $100 you can have a 5.0 system that will not only introduce you to surround sound but not break the bank at the same time.

The Speaker Company TSAT-1000-HT8-B System Review

The Speaker Company TSAT-1000-HT8-B System Review

This is the finest sounding compact system on the cheap ($399 for 5.1) that I’ve heard with a fit and finish that is second to none. The system works extremely well together mated with the ASW-8 subwoofer. Considering that tSc offers a FREE 30 day trial period with FREE shipping both ways, there is simply no risk in buying it. That being said, if a small compact inexpensive system is what you are looking for, than stop perusing the internet and buy this package!

Aperion Audio Intimus 4B Harmony SD

Aperion Audio Intimus 4B Harmony SD

Aperion Audio's Intimus 4B Harmony SD Speaker System may be a lot to pronounce all in one breath - but it may be worth it, if that means you'll get to put them into your listening room. These speakers are incredibly well-built, and do very well in a near-field environment. They are beautiful to look at and the new Bravus dual 8-inch subwoofer leaves a good impression. For those with larger rooms, look to one of Aperion's bigger systems to give you more dynamics and a better fit.

2008 CEDIA Loudspeaker Roundup

2008 CEDIA Loudspeaker Roundup

Some manufacturers keep a steady stream of products going to consumers. Others believe they have created the perfect loudspeaker and further innovation is impossible. We cover the former at this year's CEDIA Expo and uncover some enticing and exciting new models as well as some duds that may not see the light of day (not for long, anyways). Some of the exciting models included speakers from Yamaha, Monitor Audio, Boston Acoustics, Sunfire and Earthquake Sound.

Orb Audio Mod4 Speakers Review

Orb Audio Mod4 Speakers Review

Orb Audio has presented a refreshingly contemporary speaker system that somewhat miraculously couples big, expansive sound with a relatively small form factor. The system is almost infinitely expandable and, with the exception of a few ergonomic snafus, seems very well suited for anyone looking to fill a small to medium-sized room with rich, full sound.

Yamaha YSP-4000 Digital Sound Projector Review

Yamaha YSP-4000 Digital Sound Projector Review

The YSP-4000 is the newest and top-of-the-line product in this well received line. To say that it has been pushed to its limits in this review is probably an understatement. But did it pass? In my book - yes… for movies. Are you going to need a DVD player or other source? Yes. Are you going to need a subwoofer? Definitely. But for movies, what you'll get is a convincing facsimile of surround from a single source, undeniable cool factor, and convenience galore.

JBL-SCS500.5 5.1 Home Theater Speakers

When that purchase of a new HD display has left your wallet a little on the thin side, and you still don’t have a set of surround speakers, this small system from JBL might be the solution you've been looking for. For only $499 you get four matching satellites with matching center channel, and a subwoofer that is a step up from the usual fare found on most systems in price bracket.

EMP ECA-4 & ECA-44 Compact Satellite Speaker System Review

EMP ECA-4 & ECA-44 Compact Satellite Speaker System Review

This is a must have solution for any application requiring a compact clutter free and inconspicuously mounted installation. For a limited time, EMP is extending more than 50% off their MSRP plus FREE shipping which makes this system even more attractive and a very uncommon value. So basically $729 gets you 5 high performance compact satellite speakers and their new high power compact e10S subwoofer. This is a “cubed speaker system” killer for well under $1k.
