About Audioholics - Pursuing the Truth

by March 07, 2007

This site is a direct result of what happened when a group of Engineers got frustrated with marketing gimmicks in the Audio Industry and took it upon themselves to pursue the truth and educate the masses.

Things you WILL NOT see on this website:

  • Advertising from snake oil venders or companies who make products we don't respect. We turn away advertising from companies we don't agree with (a fact that stunned a recent AV magazine advertising rep into dumbfounded silence).
  • Cute little "press release" style reviews. If you've ever read a review and realized that it could have been written without ever taking the product out of the box you know what we mean (no custom photos, no real in-depth or comprehensive description of the product). Audioholics does reviews and our short write-up overview articles are called "first looks". Don't worry, you won't confuse the two. :-)
  • Flame Wars: This includes derogatory comments or improper language in our reviews or forums. We recognize that we can't prevent it, so we have created a special area for those that need to vent anger in an intelligent and acceptable manner. Failure to adhere to this guideline will result in immediate termination of your privileges to utilize portions of this site.
  • Naked pictures of the staff. We simply wouldn't put you through that kind of undue torture.

Things you WILL see on this website:

  • A friendly atmosphere where people may discuss audio / video issues and seek/give friendly and useful advice in a forum type fashion.
  • Technically-oriented information on audio/video products for both neophytes and the advanced Audioholics audiences.
  • Great reviews of the latest CD, DVD Audio and Video software releases, and detailed technically oriented product reviews by  Gene DellaSala, Marshall Guthrie, Theo Nicolakis  and other Audioholics staff.
  • Engineering support from our hardware approved vendors to answer any technically related questions you may have on their products.
  • Friendly consultation by our staff relating to audio/video products and speakers. This includes debugging of hardware and/or firmware, suggestions for design improvements, or other technical advice.

We hope you enjoy your visit and find the answers you are searching for. If you have any concerns, suggestions, or questions, please feel free to contact us.
