October 8, 2004 - SRS Labs, Inc., a leading provider of innovative audio, voice and semiconductor technology solutions, today announced that Micro-Star International (MSI), a global leader in personal computer component solutions and hardware manufacturing, has signed a new licensing agreement with SRS Labs to include SRS (Sound Retrieval System) and SRS 3D Mono technologies in their line of MEGA Home Theater PCs.

SRS Labs, Inc., a leading provider of innovative audio, voice and semiconductor technology solutions, today announced that Micro-Star International (MSI), a global leader in personal computer component solutions and hardware manufacturing, has signed a new licensing agreement with SRS Labs to include SRS (Sound Retrieval System) and SRS 3D Mono technologies in their line of MEGA Home Theater PCs . Based on production output, Micro-Star International is ranked within Taiwan's top three main computer motherboard manufacturers and is one of the world's top five, with VGA production ranking number one in the world for more than two years. The models that include the technologies are the MEGA 180 and MEGA 865 and are currently in production for export to worldwide markets. MEGA is an acronym for MSI Entertainment Gaming Appliance and although the computers are very similar in appearance to a compact home audio system, they are in fact stylish and powerful computers that are capable of listening to the radio, playing CDs and MP3 files without turning on the PC portion of the system as well as combining the benefits of computing and home theater entertainment for an excellent overall digital media experience.

The models feature SRS 3D audio enhancement technology that takes either a mono or stereo signal and expands the audio material to create a realistic three-dimensional sound image with a very wide and deep sound stage and accurate positioning of instruments and vocalists. In addition to SRS 3D, the MEGA 180 and 865 will use SRS 3D Mono technology to create an incredibly immersive 3D stereo effect from any mono source. This breakthrough technology develop and patented by SRS Labs provides the best available mono-to-stereo effects to enrich the sound quality of the audio portion of a mono signal. This technology will greatly benefit MEGA PC users due to the large volume of mono content often played over PCs for applications such as games, streaming audio and video and Internet downloading of sound files.

"More and more large manufacturers such as Micro-Star International are choosing to include our technologies in their newest convergence products," said Jennifer Drescher, vice president corporate communications for SRS Labs. "As the demand for better audio increases and consumers recognize the value of branded audio, our strategy to work harder to deliver our state-of-the-art audio solutions to consumer electronics manufacturers begins to gain traction. This new implementation by one of the world's leading PC manufacturers is evidence that our efforts are indeed working."
