Panamax Power Conditioners

Always an innovator, Panamax announced the arrival of a family of five new EX power conditioners. The M5500-EX, M5300-EX, M5100-EX and M4300-EX replace existing models, while the entirely new M5400-EX rounds up the series offering installers greater flexibility in power management products. The new Home Theater Power Conditioner family will start shipping in early July.

"Our new EX family is a logical extension to our existing product line. The new family combines Panamax's renowned feature set with a more sophisticated design."

Panamax is dedicated to giving audio, video and home theater systems the pure power they need for superlative performance. The EMI/RFI noise filtration capabilities vary by model ranging from Level 2 for the M4300-EX to Level 6 for the M5500-EX. The family's contemporary styling features silver highlights on a black chassis complemented by blue power status indicator lights. In addition, Panamax offers an optional silver bezel to allow the product to seamlessly blend with other silver A/V components. The M5100-EX features a blue LED voltmeter, while the M5300-EX, M5400-EX and M5500-EX showcase digital voltmeters with blue readouts. Additionally, the M5400-EX and M5500-EX also feature a digital ammeter.

All models in the new Home Theater Power Conditioner family feature high-current outlets that allow amplifiers and powered subwoofers to work to their full potential. When the movie thunders with a terrific explosion or when the music reaches a climactic crescendo, an amplifier has to rapidly draw large amounts of current to replenish its capacitors. Some line conditioners can impede this current draw, in effect, starving an amplifier. The High-Current Outlets provide clean, filtered power to amplifiers but have no current limiting components to impede performance.

Panamax's patent-pending Automatic Voltage Monitoring Circuitry (AVM) inherent in all models constantly monitors the AC line voltage for unsafe voltage conditions such as prolonged overvoltages and undervoltages (brownouts). These unsafe conditions pose a very dangerous threat to all electronic equipment within the home. If the conditioners sense unsafe power, they will automatically disconnect the equipment to protect it from damage. Once the voltage returns to a safe level, the power will automatically be reconnected.

All five components employ Panamax's leading Protect or Disconnect Circuitry, which safeguards equipment from catastrophic surges such as lightning by completely disconnecting the AC power to the connected equipment.

The new MAX Home Theater Power Conditioner Lineup includes:

M5500-EX (SRP $999.95): Features Level 6 noise filtration with five isolated outlet banks [two banks with ACRegeneration (via a 500VA Isolation Transformer) for digital components, two banks for analogue components, and one bank for high current equipment], two outlets per bank, front panel convenience outlet, DC Trigger input and delayed output. It also provides protection for 2 HD Satellite TV, 2 HD cable TV, 1 phone line and one LAN line. Includes a detachable 10' shielded 12AWG power cord, and rack mount bracket kit. An optional silver bezel is available to match other silver components.

M5400-EX (SRP $749.95): Features Level 5 noise filtration with five isolated outlet banks (two banks for digital components, two banks for analogue components and one bank for high current equipment), two outlets per bank, front panel convenience outlet, DC Trigger input and delayed output. It also provides protection for 2 HD Satellite TV, 2 HD cable TV, 1 phone line and one LAN line. Includes a detachable 10' shielded 12AWG power cord, and rack mount bracket kit. An optional silver bezel is available to match other silver components.

M5300-EX (SRP $549.95): Features Level 4 noise filtration with three isolated outlet banks (four outlets for digital components, four outlets for analogue components and two outlets for high current equipment), front panel convenience outlet, and DC Trigger input and output. It also provides protection for 2 HD Satellite TV, 2 HD cable TV, 1 phone line and one LAN line. Includes a detachable 10' shielded 14AWG power cord, and rack mount bracket kit. An optional silver bezel is available to match other silver components.

M5100-EX (SRP $349.95): Features Level 3 noise filtration with three isolated outlet banks (four outlets for digital components, four outlets for analogue components and two outlets for high current equipment), front panel convenience outlet, and DC Trigger input and output. It also provides protection for 1 HD Satellite TV, 1 HD cable TV, 1 phone line and one LAN line. Includes a detachable 10' shielded 14AWG power cord. Optional silver bezel and rack-mount bracket kit available.

M4300-EX (SRP $249.95): Features Level 2 noise On outlets and four switched outlets). It also provides protection for 1 HD Satellite TV, 1 HD cable TV, 1 phone line and one LAN line. Includes a 10' 14AWG power cord. Optional silver bezel and rack-mount bracket kit available.
