Triad's internal cabinet design shows fanatical attention to detail in addressing traditional cabinet resonance problems. Typically in un-braced or poorly braced cabinets of this size will exhibit a resonance in the 200-350Hz range which will become very evident in well recorded female vocals.

Triad uses very high quality MDF, interlocking cross braces which attach to the long cabinet wall at  asymmetrical points. Additionally, high density rubber is glued to the cabinet sides forming a bi-material composite sandwich, further dampening the cabinet walls. The arched high density rubber seen in the photograph breaks up and randomly disperses back waves reducing distortion. The approximately 3" thickness of open cell insulation will also damp back waves down to  approximately 700Hz, again a feature seldom seen in most designs with high end aspirations. Over all the Triad enclosure is an old world approach to an infinitely solid cabinet which is brilliantly executed.

The front baffle implements a random beveling generated by a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) program. The random bevel pattern allows rear speaker waves and unrestricted pathway into the cabinet's interior in such a manner that they do not re-impinge back onto the speaker cone reducing worries of intermodulation distortion. Brass inserts allow machine screws to more tightly secure the transducers without worrying of loosening.

This is some very impressive cabinet design, driver and part selection and you can be sure we will be doing more reviews of Triad speakers this year.
