TERK Technologies showed off its new HDTVlp, a high-performance, all-band indooroutdoor DTV/HDTV antenna that is designed for installation in urban and suburban areas where line-of-sight to the transmission tower is often blocked. Designed for easy installation, the HDTVlp features a unique directional/bi-directional design with a removable scatter plane, to achieve optimum reception of reflected broadcast signals in a wide variety of locations.

The TERK HDTVlp features a number of innovative technologies to achieve maximum reception of both UHF (channels 2 - 13) and VHF (channels 14 - 69) frequency ranges. It incorporates a proprietary digital ultra-low-noise amplifier (LNA) system developed in collaboration with Dotcast Inc. The Dotcast system enables significantly more powerful reception than conventional antenna designs, along with an ultra-low noise rating of less than 1dB.

Complementing their amplifier technology, the HDTVlp utilizes an exclusive "E-Field" antenna design with elements that are screen-printed onto the antenna frame using conductive ink, and covered by a protective coating. This configuration provides exceptional signal capture performance, with ideal resonant characteristics for HDTV reception. Measuring approximately 26" wide by 5" high by 4" deep, the HDTVlp can be inconspicuously installed indoors or outdoors.

The removable scatter-plane design of the TERK HDTVlp allows for truer, more accurate received signals. The HDTVlp features a removable scatter-plane antenna plate, which enables a choice of either a directional or bi-directional reception pattern to optimize its performance in various locations or environments. The directional antenna becomes an effective bidirectional unit when its plate is removed.

The HDTVlp features an average beam width of 64 degrees, and a front-to-back ratio of 6.6dB, enabling the antenna to efficiently capture signals received by its forward-facing, high-gain antenna elements while rejecting unwanted signals from the rear - a design that optimizes reception of reflected broadcast signals.

The TERK HDTVlp is constructed from a rugged outdoor ABS plastic, which protects the HDTVlp from inclement weather as well as harsh UV rays. It is also supplied with an outdoor installation kit that enables mounting and optimum positioning in a wide variety of locations.

The TERK HDTVlp carries a suggested retail price of $129.99 and will be available in the first quarter of 2005. For more information, please visit www.terk.com .
