KEF R700 Floorstanding Speakers Review [0.26] by Andrew Gash,December 06, 2012 23:35
The review of the KEF R700 tower speakers was an exciting ride. But before I tell you why, let me introduce you to the aforementioned KEF R700 Foorstanding speakers. These speakers are in the R-Series and are the middle child in a three-way tower line-up. They retail at $1800 each, so as you can imagine, KEF is pitching them at consumers who are serious about their music. They are designed as 3-way bass reflex, or ported, speaker and they use the company's Uni-Q driver array. It's a 1" vented aluminum dome tweeter inside a 5" aluminum midrange. We call that a coaxial design. But it also has twin 6-1/2" aluminum bass drivers that allow the speakers to drop down to 42 Hz.

If you're looking for great bass but don't have the floor space, Kef may have your solution with these new in-wall products.
KEF iQ Series 5.1 Speaker System Review [0.25] by jclarke,June 04, 2007 13:05
Can speakers that look great sound great? Over the years, the majority of speakers that I have heard that really sounded great all look pretty much the same. While finishes and grills can make one speaker look better than another, they are mostly all pretty boxy. I'm reminded of a great line from the old movie "Crazy People," where an ad executive ends up in a mental institution and begins to enlist the patients to come up with ad campaigns. My favorite was one they came up with for Volvo, and it went something like this: "Volvo. They're Boxy, But They're Good." KEF's iQ line of speakers certainly can't be considered boxy, but trust me, they're good.

KEF X300A Powered Speakers Review [0.23] by clint,November 19, 2013 23:00
I've been listening to and reviewing speakers like these KEF X300A's for quite some time. In fact, a lot of bookshelf speakers as well as many powered monitors come across my desk—literally. Well, not literally. They're more or less next to my desk. On stands. The point is—I've listened to a lot of these speakers and I know what I like. I love solid bass, but it doesn't have to sound like a subwoofer is in the room. It just has to be punchy, you know? Where it hits you right in the chest. If your speakers do that, you've got bass pretty much covered. As for highs, what you're listening for is clarity without that brittleness that can come from a tweeter that not integrated well or receiving signal through a poorly thought-out crossover. The KEF X300A's seem to have it all.
