KEF has updated the modern classic LS50 loudspeaker with a groundbreaking innovation called “Metamaterial Absorption Technology.” Featured in both the passive LS50 Meta ($1,500/pair) and the active LS50 Wireless II ($2,500/pair), Metamaterial Absorption Technology uses a complex acoustical device located behind the drivers to absorb 99% of the sound created by the tweeter’s rearward motion, which would normally enter the speaker cabinet and cause distortion. KEF Ci In-Ceiling Speakers First Look [0.28] by tom,March 25, 2011 02:40
The new Ci line from KEF looks to be just what the doctor ordered for distributed audio. You have speakers that can dip down fairly low (into the mid-thirties if the specs are to be believed) with a focus on not only invisibility (with an ultra-thin bezel) but on high end extension. The price of the line can be as low at $180 a pop but most of the offerings cross the $200 mark with the top of the line at $350. The fact is that if anyone knows coaxial speakers, it is KEF. Chances are these are going to sound pretty good. If you are looking for some speakers for your living room or bathroom, give these a listen when they ship soon.

KEF V700 & V720W Digital Soundbars Preview [0.28] by cliff,September 28, 2013 00:55
As TVs keep getting thinner and thinner, especially in the past few years with LEDs and now even more so with OLED creeping into the market, speaker manufacturers have been answering in turn. The new KEF V700 ($799) and V720W ($999) soundbars take the idea of thin to the extreme and bring the idea of clutter-free just as far. The V700 soundbar is only 6.3" H x 47.2" W x 2.1" D, meaning it can mount just as close to the wall as nearly any TV on the market. Yet, KEF managed to pack four 4.5in. dual layer diaphragm midrange drivers and two 1" vented aluminum dome tweeters into the enclosure.
KEF Ci5160RL Ci3160RL Reference Series In-wall Speakers [0.27] by clint,September 27, 2013 19:10
These are the new KEF Ci5160RL and Ci3160RL Reference Series in-wall speakers which are based on the blade series, as are a lot of KEF products. In fact, if you go back in time and kill the guy who invented the bales series, you're going to take out the entire KEF organization because a lot of their speakers are seemingly based around technologies developed in those speakers. These speakers use 6.5-inch midrange drivers with a 1-inch Uni-Q tweeter in the middle, plus four 6-5-inch aluminum magnesium woofers for the Ci5160RL and two for the Ci3160RL.

KEF Ci Series In-Ceiling Speakers Review [0.26] by jclarke,June 14, 2011 01:05
One category of speakers that is often overlooked is ceiling mounted speakers for whole house audio applications. Integrating audio into both new construction as well as existing homes has become common, and for this article we will take a look at KEF's custom installation Ci Series in-ceiling speakers. Our project home consists of a dining room, kitchen/breakfast room, great room, dining room, master bedroom, master bathroom and back porch. After a few discussions with one of KEF's product line reps, we decided on several different models for each room or "zone" of the house. The home we installed the speakers in had very easy access to the attic above each room, making installation a pretty straightforward process for this project. The back porch does not have ceiling access, so we opted for a pair of bracket-mounted Ventura 6 weatherproof speakers.
