KEF LS50 Mini Monitor Preview [0.34] by tom,June 14, 2012 07:05
KEF spec's the LS50s down to 79Hz at -3dB and 47Hz at -6dB. This is pretty amazing response for a mini-monitor. The thing that makes the KEF LS50 mini-monitors so exciting, however, is the price. While $1500 a pair may be a bit extreme for some buyers for a near-field monitor, given the level of technology that has gone into them, the LS50s sound like an absolute steal to us. If you are looking for some high end speakers for your office, den, or other near-field environment, you'd be crazy not to give these a listen.

The KEF Concept Blade floorstanding speakers sport four 9" side-firing bass drivers, the backs of each pair are bonded and bolted at the magnet. It has a fully pistonic KEF Uni-Q MF/HF array with an injection molded LCP cone with a 3" voice coil and an 1" titanium dome tweeter. The enclosure is constructed out of glass-reinforced composite material over a balsa wood core which has a parabolic curve to the walls to increase rigidity. There is an off-board crossover and rear facing port. All this is to provide a Single Apparent Source presentation making each of the drivers indistinguishable from each other. And the price for this price is not an issue speaker pair? Only $30k. And we do mean only.
KEF Q50a Dolby Atmos Enabled Speaker Preview [0.33] by anthony,October 15, 2017 13:00
Audio manufacturer KEF released their newest addition to the Q series line, the Q50a. The Q50a is a Dolby Atmos-enabled two-way closed box speaker that sits atop your existing speaker. The speaker fires its sound upward, creating the vertical dimension programmed into any Dolby Atmos recording. Will they work as well as discrete ceiling mounted speakers? Based on the laws of physics, we doubt it, but if ceiling mounting isn't an option than the KEF Q50a might be an amiable alternative if you want to experience immersive audio in your home theater system.

KEF R50 Dolby Atmos-enabled Speaker Preview [0.32] by smunz,September 23, 2014 06:35
KEF is officially entering the Dolby Atmos scene with the release of their new R50, an Atmos-enabled loudspeaker which features a concentric driver array. Priced at $1,200, the R50 utilizes the same drivers as KEF's R100 bookshelf speaker, namely a 1" aluminum dome tweeter nested inside of a 5.25" aluminum cone midrange unit. Unfortunately, these speakers were unavailable for demo at the 2014 CEDIA demo; however, we hope to get our ears on a KEF Atmos setup before long.

KEF Q900 Floorstanding Speaker Video Review [0.32] by clint,March 24, 2014 13:00
The KEF Q900 floorstanding speakers are the flagship of the Q line, but they won't empty your wallet. At $900 each and deals to be found online, these speakers are in the perfect price point for those that want to step to speakers that, at the very least, look high end without having to mortgage their homes. Playing down into the 30Hz range, these are speakers for those interested in full range speakers on a budget. Highly recommended!
KEF X300A Digital Hi-Fi Speaker System Preview [0.32] by tom,September 14, 2012 14:00
A while back, we previewed the KEF LS50 Mini Monitors. At the time, we were excited because we were seeing KEF bring some of their higher-end technology to a product that was much more affordable. At $1500 a pair, the LS50s weren't exactly an impulse buy, but they were within the reach of many enthsiasts. KEF is continuing this tradition with the announcement of their X300A Digital Hi-Fi Speakers for your office. While they don't have all the technology of the LS50s, they are self powered, are fed digitally, and cost only $799.99 a pair.
KEF MUO Portable Bluetooth Speaker Review [0.32] by anthony,February 19, 2016 02:00
Looking for a great sounding portable Bluetooth speaker? The KEF MUO might be for you. We were impressed with the ability to link two MUO speakers together to play in stereo with each speaker playing left or right channels all without ANY cords. Portable, functional, great aesthetics and a name like KEF to back it up are all great selling points for this not so inexpensive but potent little wireless speaker system.
