Fluance has been making quality turntables for over 20 years, so it was with great enthusiasm that they sent out the RT85 turntable for review. At $499 the Fluance RT85 turntable is touted to be a great bargain with amazing looks and a platform punching above its price point. Read the full review to find out if this was the case.
Center Channel Speaker Design Additional Considerations [0.15] by Steve Feinstein,April 12, 2012 18:15
This article takes a broad look at center channel design and discusses the prior two articles we've already written on the topic and compromises associated with horizontally arranging drivers. The subject of proper center channel speaker design is not a simple one. There are many considerations—price, desired coverage area, aesthetics, and others. Being aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the various design types gives the consumer the best opportunity to make the most satisfying choice.
Where are all the Dolby Atmos-enabled Speakers? [0.15] by Gene,April 27, 2015 09:00
It's been a little over a year since I wrote my article the Dolby Atmos Home Theater Paradox. In it, I discussed the struggle it would be to require consumers to add more speakers into their home theater systems in a market that is demanding less. Dolby introduced an Atmos-enabled speaker solution in hopes of addressing this very issue. Rather than promoting it as a last resort option, they touted it as a "preferred" solution over discrete speakers. Both Dolby and most of the press hailed them as "the greatest breakthrough in audio in 20 years". One year later, I can count on one hand the number of manufacturers making this speaker and the sales figures aren't too flattering. Will the Atmos-enabled speaker really impact the industry or will it sink into the abyss like 3D HDTV? Let's take a look at the year of Atmos to reflect on this question.

Not only do they sound amazing, but it gives you something to strive for in your own home system. You may even be able to work out a deal on showstock to take home with you.
