HiVi Swans 2.5HT [0.11] by tom,January 12, 2009 12:36
In the department of "more is better," Swan showed their 2.5HT towers and system at CES this year. With almost too many tweeters (ribbon and soft dome) to count, we couldn't help but be amazed. We are always impressed with the looks of Swans speaker and the 2.5HT is no different. The finish of Swans 2.5HT is a real wood veneer covered by piano lacquer. The array of tweeters is mounted on an aluminum alloy panel, creating a classic look with a touch of modern design. If they sound half as good as they look, they should be a very impressive speaker indeed.

Samsung HT-E6730W 7.1 Blu-ray 3D Home Theater System Preview [0.11] by clint,January 09, 2012 14:25
Central Hall is alive as Samsung debuts a new range of home theater systems and the first of those was their 7.1 Channel Blu-ray 3D Home Theater System, model HT-E6730W. This is the first home theater system to feature Samsung's proprietary vacuum tube amplifier technology. Basically, the system incorporates both vacuum tubes and a digital amplifier into one unit. Vacuum tubes are not new to audio - in fact they are extremely old, but there have been many discussions among audio enthusiasts over the benefits of digital and vacuum tube amplifiers. Many appreciated the pure sound that digital amplifiers deliver even in a small form factor, but felt that vacuum tube amplifiers create a richer and fuller sound. We think they help energy efficiency since they both product warm audio AND warm air to help heat your home during the winter. Go Green!
Sony Releases TDM-IP1 iPod Dock for Bravia Systems [0.11] by clint,April 05, 2007 23:31
Sony recently revealed its new TDM-IP1 Digital Media Port (DMP) dock which allows users to connect their iPods to their Bravia home theater systems and AV receivers. Big deal, you might say - but consider that it is a rather astounding thing to see Sony allow Apple any leeway into its consumer electronics products. This is certainly a collaborative product that we can appreciate and give kudos to in the marketplace.
