Sony HT-ST7 7.1 Soundbar Review [0.12] by cliff,September 16, 2013 09:00
Sony has jumped into the >$1000 soundbar market with the introduction of the ST-ST7 for $1299. Given the fact that Sony already has a presence in the high-end audio community with their ES and AR lineups, we were excited to see what they would do with a $1300 budget for a soundbar. We ran the Sony HT-ST7 through a full barrage of measurements and listening test, and took apart what we could in order to get a look inside. You'll have to read the review for a detailed analysis, but suffice it to say that it isn't perfect. It has a number of strengths, but also some pretty noticeable weaknesses, most notably a high crossover frequency and lackluster subwoofer. Read on for the full review.
Samsung 2013 Home Theater Systems: More Features Than You Can Shake A Stick At [0.12] by cliff,March 25, 2013 06:00
I got to fly up to the recent Samsung event where the company debuted, among other things, their new home theater lineup. This year it looks, on the surface, pretty thin, consisting of only three models: the HT-F6500w, HT-F5500W and HT-F4500W. But there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s much better, in my opinion, to make three good products than many mediocre products; and it looks like Samsung put in the time and effort on these three models. Seriously, it's like like Santa's bag of toys with these systems: wireless rear speakers, WiFi, Bluetooth, 3D, Internet browser, vacuum tubes, Smart Hub, auto setup mic...you name it. Read on for a full report on each unit and you'll feel like it's Christmas in HTIB land.

The Speaker Company TSAT-1000-HT8-B System Review [0.12] by Gene,January 25, 2009 20:00
This is the finest sounding compact system on the cheap ($399 for 5.1) that I’ve heard with a fit and finish that is second to none. The system works extremely well together mated with the ASW-8 subwoofer. Considering that tSc offers a FREE 30 day trial period with FREE shipping both ways, there is simply no risk in buying it. That being said, if a small compact inexpensive system is what you are looking for, than stop perusing the internet and buy this package!
REL Acoustics HT/1510 Predator II Sealed Subwoofer Review [0.12] by James Larson,September 02, 2022 14:10
Behold, the REL Acoustics HT/1510 Predator II, a 1,000 watt, 15” woofer, sealed bruiser. REL touts their subs as being quick and musical. We evaluate this claim with measurements and discuss the potential tradeoffs associated with their design approach in our exhaustive review.
