While it doesn’t allow the unlimited access or center channel provision some of the hardcore enthusiasts would like, for many people it has everything they need. The smoked glass of the DVF49 gives your gear the look of floating in your room. The top shelf is rated at 150 lbs which is more than enough for most flat panel displays and the 70 lb rating of the two interior shelves should hold all but the most outrageous amplifier.

Sanus System CFA56 AV Cabinet Review

The Sanus System CFA56 is quite a substantial piece of furniture. You definitely will feel like you got your $850 out of it. It is heavy, has built in "convection-style" cooling, easy access to your gear from the removable back panel, and bottom exit of wires. It is easily put together by a single person though it is not the easiest piece of furniture you'll ever assemble. The aesthetics are very good with a fairly high quality vinyl wrap over some quality pieces of MDF.

Sanus NF Series Racks

Sanus Systems displayed three new models in its AV Foundations Natural series. These included the NFV249 three-shelf AV lowboy, the four-shelf AV stand and the NFA245 five-shelf audio stand. All units incorporate three new Sanus colors and thick, smoked tempered glass shelves.

Bell'O FP-4858 Flat-Panel Stand and Wall Mounts

Bell’O showed off several new AV furniture products at CES this year. I've found them to make a nice range of inexpensive to premium furniture to cover a wide range of tastes. The FP-4858 Triple Play A/V Flat-Panel Stand is a beautiful corner-oriented AV stand that provides three options for use with a flat panel TV. You can display the TV on the top shelf of the stand itself; on the swivel pole mounting system above the stand; or on the wall itself with the stand below it as a shelf table.

StudioTech E-1 Cantilevered TV Stand Review

When asked if I would like to review StudioTech's new E-1 TV stand for Audioholics, I said yes before I even knew what it looked like or how big it was. StudioTech is known for innovation in contemporary entertainment center furniture, and they continue to produce very high-quality products aimed at customers with discerning tastes who demand solidly crafted furniture for sophisticated a/v equipment. For the past year I have needed another TV stand that could also handle my center channel speaker and some equipment, and this would be the perfect opportunity to finally own a piece of gear from the well-respected manufacturer.

The good folks at StudioTech stepped in and asked me what I needed, so I requested 2 different pairs that they were kind enough to ship right out to me. I thought the least I could do was offer you an overview of these stands, which I found to be a great value.

This stand works well in a corner, but also looks great when placed against a flat wall. When we took a quick peek at the specs it surprised us in that it seemed to be very “roomy” for equipment but maintained a low profile that didn’t dominate the room.

StudioTech Ultra U-22T Component Cabinet

The StudioTech Ultra U-22T furniture is a high performance piece of A/V furniture. The wire management is a snap, ventilation is more than adequate, set up is a breeze, and the options are plentiful. Above all, the price is right. You can get into one of these cabinets for a reasonable amount and have something that will last you years.

Diamond Case Theater Tech TT-400 Credenza Review

Furniture. Sometimes it can make or break a home theater. As often as not, the one that is picking the equipment is not in charge or picking the furniture. This leads to some, shall we say, interesting combinations. We’ve all seen the pictures of holiday figurines on top of speakers. We’ve all cringed. We’ve all swore up and down that we would NEVER allow something like that to happen to our home theater. And then one day we come home from work and it looks like Christmas threw-up all over our listening room. And though you’ll never admit it, you bit your tongue and said, “Looks great honey. Now, that subwoofer I was telling you about…”

So, what’s the solution? Most home theater “furniture” looks like it belongs in a dentist’s office or that was built in metal shop by high school students. Some of us like that “industrial” look, but when you are trying to convince your significant other that upgrading your perfectly good speakers for ones that look remarkably similar but cost three times as much… you need to make concessions. But that doesn’t mean that form and function are mutually exclusive.

BDI Icon 9424 Flat Panel TV Stand Review

Having previously reviewed the BDI Axis line of furniture, we were curious as to how well the Icon line would compare, being made for a different type of display altogether. I isolated some important needs for a DLP/plasma display shelf system.

BDI Vector 9522 Home Theater AV Furniture Review

I reached a point in my home theater hobby that afforded me the luxury of assembling a secondary two channel audio system. While building this system, I came to the realization of just how nice it would be to enjoy both music and movies in the comforts of my own bedroom. I later decided it may be advantageous to integrate home theater with it for those lazy late night movie watching extravaganzas. As my equipment stacked up for this would-be two-channel audio system gone home theater, I came to a quick realization that I was running out of shelf space faster then the assembly of my equipment. With that, I went out on a quest to find the best A/V furniture within a reasonable price class that met my requirements.

BDI Axis Home Theater Furniture Review
