URC FX1 Remote Control
Universal Remote Control, Inc. introduced the Total Control FX1 remote control at the 2007 CES. The FX1 is a very basic remote and includes all the essentials needed to easily operate a home entertainment system. This entry-level remote controls up to five audio/video components, including TVs, DVD players, VCRs, satellite receivers, music servers and cable set-top boxes as well as lighting controls and more. It's designed to be quick and easy to set up, and even easier to operate. Packed with a database of thousands of pre-programmed codes, the FX1 is set to control hundreds of components.
This $20 remote also includes two new Universal Remote Control functions - MacroPower and SimpleSound. MacroPower lets users turn several A/V components on or off at the same time, and uses special command, or macro, keys to switch sources and inputs with the press of a single button. SimpleSound provides users with total and convenient 'one-touch' control over the volume functions on all their components, including devices - such as TiVo, DVD players and VCRs - that do not have built-in volume controls. This is basically a punch-through function, which is very convenient on an entry-level remote.
Additional features include 44 strategically located soft-touch control buttons, device buttons that light up for easy viewing in dark environments, and an ergonomic design shaped and balanced for comfort and easy one-hand operation.
The FX1 is available now from authorized URC dealers at a suggested price of $19.95.
