Westinghouse LVM-42w2 LCD

by Clint DeBoer last modified May 31, 2007
Filed under: Televisions & Displays

Westinghouse is a name that you most likely would not associate with flat panel LCD televisions, but at their booth they were displaying several new displays including the first 42-inch 1080p LCD. Other models include new 47-inch and 37-inch LCD panels. All of the televisions displayed looked very good - colors were bright, vibrant and saturated. The new panels are scheduled to ship April 2006.

The LVM-42w2 features Genesis Display Perfection® technology, including Faroudja® video processing enhancement for scaling and deinterlacing that reduces the blur and jagged edges and provides sharp, crisp images. The LVM-42w2 joins the Westinghouse 1080p line, which includes the best-selling 37-inch 1080p model and a 47-inch model expected to be available in major consumer electronics stores nationwide in Q1 2006.

The Westinghouse LVM-42w2 features a new, attractive industrial design in charcoal with silver trim, and has "more glass and less chassis," allowing it to fit neatly in the same space that other brands can only squeeze in smaller 37- or 32- inches displays. Measuring only 4.5 inches deep and weighing 52 pounds, it easily mounts onto a wall.
