Optoma EzPro 725 and H76 DLP

Thursday at CES 2004 was a crazy day and we just had to return to Optoma to check out their projectors. Two items caught our eye in particular. First, was the EzPro 725 "Laptop Companion", a laptop that is roughly the same width as a twenty dollar bill. The EzPro 725 features a 2000:1 contrast ratio, 1100 lumens, XGA native (1024 x 768) resolution (1280 x 1024 compressed SXGA) and a credit card sized remote control. Billed as an ultra portable laptop companion DLP projector, the EzPro 725 packs quite the punch into its 2.1 pound frame. It accepts VGA, composite and s-video inputs and has an IR receiver on both the front and back of the unit.

If you are interested in home theater, the H76 DLP powerhouse is based on Texas Instruments' HD-2 0.79-inch 12-degree Mustang Chip which delivers excellent color and contrast. A 2000:1 contrast ratio, 1000 lumens, and 720p (1280 x 720) / 1600 x 1200 (UXGA compressed). At just over 16 pounds, this DLP projector should make for an excellent performer in the home theater environment.
