Harmony 676 Remote Control

by Jeff Lawson last modified May 31, 2007
Filed under: Miscellaneous

Logitech introduced its first Internet-powered universal remote control since the company acquired Intrigue Technologies in May. Like its predecessors, the new Logitech Harmony 676 is an activity based remote control that solves many difficulties and hassles for consumers' remote control requirements. It can control any electronic component that uses an infrared receiver, and each remote can control as many as 15 devices.

All Harmony remotes are Internet-powered - they are easily programmable through a shared, online database containing information on tens of thousands of component types and brands (see the Audioholics review of the H688 remote control ). The Harmony 676 is the first Harmony remote to include interchangeable, colored faceplates - in silver, red and blue - designed to suit individual tastes and match the décor of any living room.

[Harmony676TOP] The available buttons include enhanced control for satellite television and personal video recorder (PVR) devices such as TiVo. Through activity-based programming, the Harmony 676 makes it easy to take complete control of an entertainment system. The Harmony 676 remote also allows the user configure the remote with advanced commands, so for those requiring a bit more customization options are accessible from the online application interface.
