Checkthrough Executive Brief

Skooba Design has introduced the Checkthrough Executive Brief - the latest addition to Skooba's collection of patent-pending "Checkpoint-Friendly" laptop bags. Checkpoint-Friendly bags comply with TSA requirements and specifications that allow them  to be sent through airport screening with the laptop left inside. Aside from the obvious convenience of not having to remove the laptop, Checkpoint-Friendly bags help prevent damage, and minimize the chances that the laptop will be one of the tens of thousands lost or stolen in airports in a typical year.

The new Executive Brief is a sleek, smoothly-contoured and tailored case that offers about 2-dozen pockets and compartments, including a Doc Pocket ticket/passport organizer, divided file section, keyring, USB thumb drive caddy and more. Despite the high capacity and abundance of compartments and features, the bags are ultra-lightweight and designed for serious-but-comfortable “road warrior” travel. The Executive Brief is available in small (for typical 15” laptops and smaller) and large (up to 17" laptop) sizes.

All of Skooba's Checkthrough Bags—Briefs, Backpacks, and Rolling cases—look and function like high-end business cases, but hinge and open in the middle to separate and isolate the laptop compartment from the rest of the bag. For initial, immediate visual reference, the laptop can be seen by the inspector through a clear window that is exposed when the bag is unfolded. This quick-recognition window is one of several features for which the company has patents pending. With the window facing up, the bag is sent through x-ray screening. The design of the laptop compartment is such that the image presented to the screener is the same as if the laptop were removed and placed in a bin. The Checkthrough bag and all of its contents can be carried securely with or without the hinge zipped shut, so it can be readied in line, prior to screening. Once through, the traveler can simply pick up the bag and go, zipping it back up on the move or at the gate.

Skooba was among the first companies to develop Checkpoint-Friendly bags when the program was announced in 2008, working with both the TSA and major airport screening equipment manufacturers to perfect the designs and technical standards. Its exclusive Checkthrough brand and designs are "Rapiscan Tested" - the only bags to carry that label - indicating that they’ve been put through their paces by the leading manufacturer of screening equipment.

The small and large Checkthrough Executive Briefs list for $149.95 and $159.95, respectively. Full specs and dealer/ordering  information at www.skoobadesign.com.
