Audioholics GTG

The 2012 Audioholics GTG event is just one week away.  I thought it would be good measure to give our attendees a little sneak peak on what to expect to hear and see at our show.  There will be five (5) demo rooms each packed with some of the latest gear offered from our sponsors.  You can expect many of them to also be giving away party swag and prizes.

Location: The Palm Harbor Lake Tarpon Resort, Palm Harbor, Florida, 1-866-328-LAKE (727-942-0358)

Note: to reserve a sleeping room call them and say "Audioholics" to get our special $79/nt rate and room block.

When: Saturday October 27th from 9am to 6pm with special preview of some demo rooms on Friday October 26th.

The Demo Rooms

Salk Sound

Salk SS8Location: The Dock Room

You can expect the high end two-channel premier demo room to be no other than our friends at Salk Sound.  When Jim Salk asked us for the LARGEST demo room possible, we figured he was doing a multi-channel setup, but we were wrong.  When I told him the room he selected was about 750 sq feet, he said that should be big enough to give my new Soundscape 8 Floorstanding loudspeakers breathing room to really open up.  If these speakers sound even 1/4th as good as they look, we are all in for a heck of a treat!  To add icing on this cake, Salk's demo room has bar and dock access and he can literally have that room jamming all day and all night long if there are enough sober Audioholics left to listen.

Emotiva

Location: The Dali Room

Emotiva will be bringing an arsenal of their products to our event.  Most notably, folks will get to see and demo their brand new highly anticipated XMC-1 A/V Processor.  Expect to also get a look at their new XSP-1 Differential two-channel analog preamp.  Of course all of their great amplification including their new ultra high power XPR amps will be flexing their muscle too!

In the same demo room, Emotiva is paired up with Epson and Severtson Screens.  Epson will be showing off their new Pro Cinema Series 6020 HD 3D projector on a 120" diagonal 3D Silver screen provided by Severtson Screens.  One word for this demo room:  AWESOME!

HSU Research

Location: Room #412

HSU will actually be demoing two full days, Friday Oct 26th (for the early birds) and Saturday the 27th.  HSU will have their HB-1 MK2 speakers, HC-1 MK2 center channel,  and their legendary VTF-15H and ULS-15 subwoofers on demo at our show.  We look forward to them rattling the walls of the hotel as a way to invite all the patrons to come and listen.

EMPtek

Location: Room #406

A full EMP Impression Series demo will be up and running consisting of their E55Ti Towers, E56CI center, E55wi surround speakers and a pair of their ES1010i subwoofers.  Great sound and looks at affordable prices is what EMP is all about.  Yamaha was kind enough to also supply an RX-A1020 Aventage A/V receiver for power and a Blu-ray player for the source.

Of course great audio deserves great video too.   Epson will be showing off their new Pro Cinema Series 5020 HD 3D projector on a 93" diagonal  screen provided by Severtson Screens.  We expect this room to draw a big crowd especially since the folks at EMP are also bringing the new RBH EP1 noise control earphones  to demo.

Angel City Audio

Location: Room #408

We never heard of Angel City Audio (ACA) until they contacted us and expressed an interest in participating at our event.  It was a pleasant sight when perusing their website to find so many high quality product offerings.  ACA will be showing off their very own Trinity LCR speakers in a two-channel configuration powered by the Melody AN300b class A stereo tube integrated amplifier.  The source will be the venerable Oppo BDP-95 Blu-ray player via the two-channel analog outputs.  We look forward to sitting down, resting our eyes and exploring some high fidelity two-channel in this room and we are sure you will too!

Food, Relaxation and Prizes - Oh My!

JennyThe Audioholics GTG event isn't just about experiencing great audio and video.  We are about bringing people together for a fun and cozy gathering to share and discuss our common love of A/V.  If your registered, you will also be served beverages and home cooked Spanish/Italian food cooked by the DellaSala and Molinares family  (see PDF menu attachment below) and sponsored by our friends at the Audioholics Store, Aperion Audio and Oppo Digital

In case you get tired of all the mingling at our event, you can take a break and get a chair massage from our lovely licensed massage therapist Jenny.  Just be sure to show your appreciation with a little tip and smile.

We're also happy to report that the band Spock's Beard has provided us with copies of their  latest CD titled "X" to demo at our event and give away to 20 lucky progressive rock fans.

We encourage you to bring your checkbook as the sponsors will likely be offering special Audioholics GTG event discounts on their demo gear as well as taking orders of their latest stuff which may not even be listed on their website.

If you're extending your stay, be sure to take a tour of the beautiful sights and culture of Tarpon Springs.  Great food, shopping and plenty of opportunities to charter boats and tour the Gulf are all at your finger tips.
