Yamaha NX-U10

Yamaha showed of it new set of USB powered speakers call the NX-U10. This long, thin bar is about the size of a laptop, has built in passive radiators, and (with a proprietary amplifier technology) output 20 watts (10w x2) over a single USB connection. This means no power cords - all you have to do is plug the unit into your USB port and you're good to go. If you want to use these speakers with an iPod, cell phone, or similar device, the unit is capable of running on 4 AAA batteries. Of course, you can go old school and just plug them into the wall but how boursougine is that? The SR-Bass (Swing Arm Bass) passive radiator technology is a bit different in that it uses the actual enclosure as the radiator. We did have a chance to demo these a bit and were surprised at how loud they could play. We hope to get a better look at them in the future. Finish options and pricing is unavailable at press time.
