UPDATE: We now have a full review of the SR-8100 Receiver

Sherbourn released a ton of new custom installation products this year at the 2012 CEDIA Expo, but the company is, perhaps, most excited about their new home theater AV receivers. The SR-8200 ($1999) and SR-8100 ($9899) 7.1 receivers are made by Sherbourn, so they're built really well, with full billet aluminum faceplates and buttons and a 10-year warranty that is almost unheard of in the industry. The products are simple, elegant and they just are built to work.

The SR-8200 has 7 HDMI inputs on the back with one output and it will put out 125 watts per channel into 8-ohms. Since this is Sherbourn, we're pretty sure that's all-channels-driven. The receiver also includes Bluetooth audio for streaming media - which we think is actually pretty excellent for a product like this.

As far as the SR-8100 is concerned, it's a very similar product, but with 4 HDMI inputs and one output and it features power output of 80 watts per channel. It otherwise has the same Bluetooth audio and the same excellent warranty.

Both AV receivers also feature something rather unique - an advanced room calibration system that not only shows you the results, but also allows you to edit and tweak the results. On a lot of systems it will tell you a little bit about what it's done, but it won't let you go in and edit the parametric EQ settings afterwards to tweak the results - Sherbourn does that.

The SR-8100 should be available by the end of this year while the SR-8200 is slated to ship in early 2013.
